About This Competition

The Powerstroke Partner Throwdown is a competition that goes above and beyond to create a world class experience for our CrossFit Community.    Last year - every single team that signed up got an athlete package that was valued at $400, this year we are aiming to raise the bar yet again!

The Event itself will be held at the 75,000 square foot 3C Arena in Fallon NV.   We have a full Athlete Dinner for FREE for all athletes and volunteers on Friday 4/12/24, then Competition will be on Saturday and Sunday 4/13 and 4/14.

WHO IS THIS COMP FOR AND WHAT DIVISION SHOULD I SIGN UP FOR????

RX

If you RX the vast majority of workouts at your Affiliate / program - you will be fine RX in this competition.   Things you should be able to do in the RX division : toes to bar, double unders, pull ups, be able to handle a 155/105# barbell for most movements in a metcon setting.

WHAT IF I CAN NOT DO MUSCLE UPS OR HANDSTAND WALKS?? -  no worries - dont let missing these skills keep you out of RX.  Events will be programmed in a way that those athletes that do have the more advanced skills will be able to showcase them - but Im not going to have events / movements set up in a way that leaves everyone in failure mode staring at a certain implement.  

 

MASTERS -

this is for 40+ and is geared to be somewhere between RX and Scaled.   If you can do toes to bar,pull ups, double unders, pretty comfortable with most lifts, but dont want to play with the RX young bucks - but youre also not scaled - MASTERS is for you!!!

SCALED 

if you do not have the higher level gymnastic movements like toes to bar / pull ups / double unders, and are newer to barbell movements - THIS IS THE PERFECT DIVISION FOR YOU!     getting out there and competing with the community can really help find your love and excitement for fitness - I promise I will have workouts that are challenging for sure - but wont be super limiting by high skill movements or heavy loads.   If you are working out at an affiliate taking class - YOU CAN DO THIS TOO!    this division will be accessible for everyone!

@0:00 and every 2:30 you must complete 1 relay sprint, passing the baton at the switch

*for reps to count - one partner must be holding 45/35# plate

 

*Time cap: 12:30 min

 

Scaled: feet above hips, 14/10# wall ball

Skill Set (3 separate scores, 50pts each)

On a running clock

Max double unders

3:00-6:00

Max distance HSW in unbroken 10' sections - 30' length

6:00-9:00

Max snatches (155/105)

-any version of snatch

 

*Score - total reps (every 10ft of HSW = 1 rep)

 

Scaled: single unders, forward and reverse bear crawl, 95/65# snatch
