About This Competition

LDB Throwdown will be a 1 Day, Same sex pairs competition ran at Lake District Barbell on Saturday 5th July 2025

There will be one entry division, after 2 workouts the division will split into an upper and lower tier. 

Upper will continue the competition with common RX movements and weights.

Lower will continue with common scaled movements and weights.

There will be 30 team spaces in each division.

There will be no qualifiers for this event. on the day there will be 3-4 workouts and a final. Workouts will be released on social media and via email in the lead up to the event. dates TBC.

Kids and Dogs are welcome but must be well behaved and under control, we have plenty of space at LDB, our open Gym area will be for warm ups and kit storage. the Crossfit side will be strictly for workouts and spectators.

There will be cash prizes for 1st place and prizes for podium places, the final amount will depend on total sign ups for the event.

on the day we will have a food and cake stall from the cumbrian bakery and a Bar serving all day.

there are small changing rooms available for showers at the end of the day 

Entries are non refundable. Substitutes are allowed

Workouts

Max Bar muscle ups for RX completed in the remaining time of Workout 3

Max Pull ups for scaled completed in the remaining time of Workout 3

 

Workout 4 is a 4 min time cap.

Atheletes will complete 12 Synchro Deadlifts 

1 Barbell 1 Pair of Kettlebells 

Athlete 1 will then pick up the first sandbag and carry it out to the marked box and complete 3 Cleans then carry it back 

Athlete 2 will repeat.

Atheletes will then complete 9 Synchro Deadlifts

Athlete 1 will then pick up the second sandbag and carry it out to the marked box and complete 2 Cleans then carry it back 

Athlete 2 will repeat.

Atheletes will then complete 6 Synchro Deadlifts

Athlete 1 will then pick up the final sandbag and carry it out to the marked box and complete 1 Clean then carry it back 

Athlete 2 will repeat.

weights will be as follows:

Barbell: M RX 100kg F RX 75kg  M Sc 80kg F Sc 55kg

KB: M RX 32kg F RX 24kg  M Sc 24kg F Sc 16kg

Sandbags:

M RX 50-60-70

F RX 30-40-50 

M Sc 30-40-50

F Sc 20-30-40

 

complete as fast as possible:

20 Cal Row 

30 Wallballs @9/6kg

20-15-10-5 Synchro Bar facing burpees

Athletes may split the row and wallballs however they like.

 

Scaling is allowed but you will score lower than anyone that completes the workout RX.

Scaling would be wallballs at 6/3kg and stepping the burpees

there will be a 2min rest & transition following workout 1A. weights CAN be changed in this time.

athletes will then have 6 mins to complete the heaviest complex of:

1 Clean 

2 Front Squats 

1 Jerk

 

squat cleans are allowed but cannot count towards the front squat. Hang cleans are NOT allowed.

any style of jerks are permitted

3 x 3 min AMRAPS

each round athletes will complete:

18 DB Ground to overheads @22.5/15kg

2 x 50ft Walking Lunge (2 x 25ft YGIG)

18 Synchro Box overs 

Max shuttle runs together in the remaining time

 

Score will be total shuttle runs completed accross all 3 rounds.

DB can be held anyway you like on the lunge.

Workout 3 is a 10min time cap.

Teams will begin with 2 rounds of:

50 DU 

18/15 cal Ski

12 Power cleans @60/43kg

12 Hang power cleans 

12 STOH

20 TTB

into 

1 Round of:

50 DU

18/15 cal Ski

6 Power cleans

6 Hang power cleans 

6 STOH

20 Pull ups 

if the athletes finish the prescribed work they will then complete max bar muscle ups in the remaining time 

 

Scaled workout

Teams will begin with 2 rounds of:

50 SU 

18/15 cal Ski

12 Power cleans 40/25kg

12 Hang power cleans 

12 STOH

20 Knee raises 

into 

1 Round of:

50 SU

18/15 cal Ski

6 Power cleans

6 Hang power cleans 

6 STOH

20 Banded Pull ups (1 green band)

if the athletes finish the prescribed work they will then complete max Pull ups in the remaining time
