About This Competition

 

Join us at CrossFit Monarch Borough Parade on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th of June for our Mixed Teams Watch The Throne 2.0 CrossFit competition. 

Saturday 10th will be dedicated to our scaled category.

Sunday 11th will be dedicated to the RX category. 

Location: CrossFit Monarch Borough Parade, Chippenham, Wilts, Sn153WL

Teams: 2 Male + 2 Female (4 per team). Limited to 25 teams per day. 

Events: Details will be released the week prior to the competition. Scaled will include 3 workouts plus a final. RX will include 4 workouts plus a final.   

The required movement standards and weights for each category can be found below. If the athletes within your team CAN perform the movements and loads highlighted in the RX category they should NOT enter the scaled category. 

Timings: Athlete check in will begin from 8am each day - briefing will begin at 8:30am

*We will allow athlete substitutions up until the day of the competition, no refunds will be given for any reason.*

RX movement standards may include but not limited to: 

  • Toes to bar/pull ups
  • Barbell load cycling example 60/40kg / deadlifts 100/70kg
  • Dumbell load examples 22.5/15kg
  • Double unders 

Expect the final to have further advanced movements.

Scaled movement standards may include but not limited to:

  • Butterfly sit ups 
  • Kettlebell swings 24/16kg
  • Dumbell load examples 17.5/10kg
  • Barbell load examples cycling of 35/25kg / deadlift 70/50kg
  • Hanging knee raises 

The final may include slightly more advanced movements and loads. 

Our facility includes a coffee bar, serving a range of drinks including nocco and other soft drinks along with a variety of protein bars. There is a range of coffee shops and supermarkets within a minute walking distance. 

We are able to provide a skipping rope but you are advised to bring your own. 

Parking is available in our private free car park, please follow the signs. If you park in the Monarch car park YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENTERING YOUR REGISTRATION INTO THE TABLET AT THE REQUIRED TIMES.  Once the Monarch car park is full teams will need to find alternative parking at one of the many available car parks in the surrounding area. 

Spectators are welcome but please try to keep these to a sensible limit.

Workouts

As individuals, athletes must complete the following:

One person working at a time:

FOR TIME:

50 Double unders 

10 KB/DB thrusters

15ft KB/DB overhead lunges 

20/15 cal assault bike 

Score is the total time taken for each athlete to finish the set work

KB -24/16kg x 2 

DB - 22.5/12.5kg x 2

each set of Kettlebells and Dumbbells can only be used once. 

Workout will start with lightest load and finish with the heaviest load. 

Loads are not set to male and female categories. Calories are set to male (20) and female (15).

12 minute Amrap:

BUY IN -

100 wall ball's 9/6kg - one athlete works other 3 athletes hang from the rig

in the remaining time 2 athletes at a time MF will complete:

2 burpee sandbag box get overs (60/40kg sandbag/40 inch box)

1 clean - chosen weight for males and females 

Score = total clean load lifted. 

Once the male and female barbell loads have been chosen, they cannot be changed. 

Each athlete will have 3 attempts to hit a 1 rep max in each of the following movements:

Strict Press

Front Squat 

Deadlift 

Floor press

Each athlete has 30 seconds per attempt - this must include the lift and the weight change. One athlete will work through their 3 attempts at a time for each lift. 

Combined load for the entire team will equal the score. 

AMRAP x 6 minutes

in pairs MF/MF one pair working at a time:

9 Sync Overhead squats

6 Sync Toes to bar/Pull ups

@ min 6:

As a pair MF x 2 mins:

Max reps Sync Barbell snatch

M - 50kg

F - 35kg

 

During the first 6 minute amrap pairs are set and athletes cannot swap out. During the second 2 minute period. Any two athletes (must be MF) can work together to hit the maximum reps possible. 

Power and squat snatch count. 

AMRAP x 6 minutes

in pairs MF/MF one pair working at a time:

9 Sync DB front squats

6 Sync DB down ups

@ min 6 

All athletes 2 mins:

Max reps Sync single arm devils press

M - 15x2kg

F - 10x2kg

 

15 minute cap 

In pairs MF/MF - one pair working at a time

In a 2.30 min interval pairs must complete the following:

40 calorie row 

Max reps Sync DB box step overs 24/20" box 

Workout completes when 50 box step overs have been achieved.
