CFL Monster Throwdown - Intramural Edition
About This Competition
It's time for our 2021 Edition of the CFL Intramural Throwdown - Monster Style!
DATE: Saturday, October 23, beginning at 8:00 AM
3 DIVISIONS (similar to our 3 daily workout tracks). Division names: "Release the Kraken!", "Zombie Apocalypse", and "Werewolves at Night".
Take a look at the workout descriptions below, then register in the division of your choice. Teams of 4 for each division will be randomly drawn and you'll be assigned to a team on the morning of the event.
Performance standard for each division:
- Kraken division athletes must be able to perform bar muscle ups.
- Zombie division athletes must be able to perform chest to bar pull ups.
- Werewolf division athletes must be able to perform hanging knee raises.
COST: $5 (via venmo or through your CFL PushPress account) Your 5 bucks will get you an awesome morning of competition and a free FitAid or other cold drink to enjoy.
REGISTRATION: Register here now for free. You'll be able to pay $5 later via venmo or pushpress). Note: When you register the division you choose will be labeled as "an individual's division" because you'll be assigned to a team on the day of the event).
3 TEAM WODS
Descriptions:
WOD #1
With a 15-minute time cap:
Each team will do a 200m run together, then the team members will make one attempt each to build to a heavy power clean. After all team members complete one attempt, the team will do another 200m run, followed by an additional lift attempt by each team member. Repeat until satisfied with weight lifted, or until the time cap is reached.
Score: Total combined weight of heaviest successful lift for all team members.

WOD #2
AMRAP 7
Team members perform movements waterfall style:
First team member completes one round of
3 CTB + 3 BMU (Kraken teams) or
3 Pull-ups + 3 CTB (Zombie teams) or
6 Knee raises + 6 grip rotations on bar per hand (Werewolf teams)
(if the athlete drops from the bar without completing the entire complex, another team member must take over to complete remaining reps)
Once the complex is completed, the next team member can immediately begin the same complex while the the preceding team member completes (15/12) calories on the bike. Team members will rotate through movements, waterfall style, until 7 minutes elapses.
Score: Total reps performed by all team members.
