SPISLAND GAMES September 2022!!!!
Welcome to SPIsland Games 2022!
We are back, BADDER, BIGGER and wayyyyy HOTTER!!! Big thank you for wanting more information on participating in our event. Information on the competition date, workouts and divisions can be found on our landing page. But the sure fire way to find out first hand and quickest is to follow our instagram page @spislandgames.
We are working on securing group rates / lodging and hotels and will post the information soon.
This Functional Fitness Event starts on September 16 at 6 pm and ends on September 17 at 8 pm.

The following divisions will be available
SAME SEX TEAMS OF 3 (RX, Intermediate, Novice)
or
Individual (RX, Intermediate, Novice, Masters)
.
Below are the expected qualifications when choosing the division you will compete in:
RX - can do all official CF open movements RX. Deadlift 225/155, Power Clean 185/125, Power Snatch 135/95...
Intermediate - can do all official CF open movements RX, weights will be lighter, every day gym WOD weights. Deadlift 185/125, Power Clean 135/95, Power Snatch 115/85
Novice - modified movements and lighter weights. Deadlift 135/95, Power Clean 95/65, Power Snatch 75/45
Masters - will do intermediate movements, age 35+.

MENS: RX - 50# / Int - 40# / Nov - 30#
WOMENS: Int - 30# / Nov - 20#
To get a “good rep,” ensure the following:
Dumb Bell Snatch
– The dumbbell snatch starts with both heads of the dumbbell on the ground.
– The athlete must lift the dumbbell overhead in one motion. A clean and jerk is not allowed.
– Touch-and-go is permitted. Bouncing the dumbbell is not allowed. Both heads must touch the ground.
– Athletes must alternate arms after each repetition and may not alternate until a successful rep is achieved.
– The athlete may not use the non-lifting hand or arm to assist by making contact with the legs or other parts of the body during the repetition.
– At the top, the athlete’s arms, hips, and knees must be fully locked out, with the dumbbell clearly over the middle of the athlete’s body when viewed from profile.
– The rep is credited once the athlete has reached lockout.
– The athlete may choose to do a split snatch. However, both feet must return in line under the athlete’s body while the dumbbell is locked out overhead for the repetition to count.
– Athletes may not receive any assistance in resetting the dumbbell.

Paddle board will be completed in deep water in the bay.
Lifeguards will be on standby for paddleboard portion.

To get a “good rep,” ensure the following:
Burpee Over Bar
– Burpee : Chest and hips touch.
– Head must be above the hips while going over the bar.
– Burpee down and up and hop two feet over the bar.
Bar Muscle Up
– the athlete must begin with, or pass through, a hang below the bar with arms fully extended and the feet off the ground
– Kipping the muscle-up is acceptable, but pull-overs, rolls to support and glide kips are not permitted.
Toes to Bar
– You start in a full hang position with your arms extended and feet behind the bar
– Toes to bar: both feet touch the bar between your hands at the same time
Hanging Knee Raise
– You start in a full hang position with your arms extended and feet behind the bar
– both knees must go above hip crease at same time
Power Snatch
– The bar starts on the ground
– You finish the movement with full hip, knee, and arm extension with the bar over the middle of your feet
Chest to Bar Pull Up
– your chest (below the collar bone) must touch the bar at the top of each rep
Front Squat
– Your hip crease drops below your knee crease at the bottom of the squat
– You reach full hip and knee extension at the top
– Crossing arms not allowed

– Your hip crease drops below your knee crease at the bottom of the squat
– You reach full hip, knee and arm extension at the top, head thru the window

Max Out Complex
Complex Lift consists of
3 - Deadlifts
2- Hang Cleans ( Power or Squat)
1 - Shoulder to Overhead (Strict Press, Push Press, Push Jerk or Split Jerk)
There will be designated weights to perform the complex at 9 of the 10 stations. On a running clock, athletes will have 30 seconds to perform the complex and 30 seconds to transition. If the athlete reaches the 10th and final station, they can select whatever weight to perform complex at.
To get a “good rep,” ensure the following:
Deadlift
– The bar starts on the ground
– You reach full hip and knee extension at the top with your head and shoulders behind the bar
– You keep straight arms throughout the movement
– No bouncing the barbell between reps
– No regripping the barbell at the bottom of reps
Hang Clean
– The barbell starts from a hang position after the 3rd Deadlift is completed
– You reach full hip and knee extension at the top before bringing the bar back down to the hang position
– In the front rack position, your elbows remain in front of the bar
Shoulder to Overhead
– The bar starts in the front rack position with the elbows slightly in front of the bar
– The arms lock out overhead with the barbell over the middle of the feet and the legs/hips fully extended

Each team member must finish the movement before proceeding to the next.
To get a “good rep,” ensure the following:
BOX JUMP OVER
– You use a two-foot take-off
– Both of your feet land simultaneously on the box
WALLBALLS
– Your hip crease drops below your knee crease at the bottom of the squat
– You hit the target with the prescribed weight
DOUBLE UNDERS
– The rope passes under your feet two times with every jump
SINGLE UNDERS
– The rope passes under your feet one time with every jump
– two feet jumping at same time
