Turku Tuomiopäivä 2024 Qualifiers
About This Competition
Summer’s coolest sports festival is here again - crown your summer with a challenge!
The CrossFit licensed competition Turku Tuomiopäivä is held in Turku, Finland from August 29th to the 31th, 2024.
The Elite division (20+20) will start the competition on Thursday and compete until Saturday (29.-31.8.2024). The RX-division will compete on Friday and Saturday (30.-31.8.2024).
Finland’s fittest man Jonne Koski has planned our exciting events this year, as always. If you want to challenge yourself in a competition that has gotten a lot of positive feedback about how everything runs smoothly, athletes are treated well and the schedule is on point, Turku Tuomiopäivä is your place to be.
This year both Elite- and RX division’s competitors will be chosen through a two week qualifier.
The qualification period lasts two weeks: the qualifier starts on Monday, May 27th at 9:00 AM (UTC+3) and ends on Sunday, June 9th, 2024 at 6:00 PM (UTC+3).
The qualifying events will be announced at the start of the qualifier and they will be the same for both divisions.

ELITE DIVISION
At the end of the qualifier 15 best men and women (15+15) will claim their place in the onsite competition. Also there will be 5+5 competitors invited to the Elite division. In the main event there will be a cash prize for the three best athletes in the Elite-division.
RX DIVISION
The athletes ranked 16th to 55th (40 women and 40 men) will claim their place in the onsite competition.
Once the qualifiers have concluded (on Sunday, June 9 6pm UTC+03:00) and the leaderboard is finalized, event organizers will send out invitations to the onsite event in Turku in August. Any eligible athlete wishing to participate must accept their invitation and register for the Final before the announced duedate. Turku Tuomiopäivä is applying Turku Tuomiopäivä 2024 Rulebook.
All advancing athletes will be asked to submit videos of all test performances for review. All videos submitted for review must adhere to the video submission guidelines provided.

Workouts
Event 1:
Amrap in 20 min

Men: 20lbs / 9kg wallball and 22,5kg dumbbell
Women: 14lbs / 6kg wallball and 15kg dumbbell
Event 1 is a 20-min AMRAP of rowing, wallballs and alternating dumbbell snatches.
Athlete starts the workout seated on the rower with hands off the paddle. After the call of “GO”, the athlete rows 80 calories. After completing the rowing athlete performs 60 reps of wallballs and finishes the round by completing 40 reps of alternating dumbbell snatches. Athlete continues the sequence of rowing, wallballs and alt. db snatches for 20 minutes.
Athlete’s score will be the total number of reps completed in 20 minutes.
Event 2A for time:

Workout 2B begins immediately upon completing or reaching the time cap for 2A
Event 2A is a sprint of double unders, clean&jerks and handstand walk for time. After the call of “Go,” athlete can pick up the jump rope and perform 100 reps of double unders. After completing DU’s athlete moves to the weightlifting bar and performs 15 reps of clean and jerks. After
completing C&J, the athlete performs 100 reps of double unders and to finish a workout 30m of handstand walk.
Athlete’s score from workout 2A will be the total time to complete all reps or the number of reps completed within the 6-minute time cap.
Straight after finishing the 2A, starts the event 2B where the athlete has a 6-min time window to build 1 rep max of clean&jerk.
Event 2B for max weight in 6 minutes:
1RM Clean & jerk
Straight after finishing the 2A, starts the event 2B where the athlete has a 6-min time window to build 1 rep max of clean&jerk. The athlete may not begin the workout 2B until they have completed or reached the time cap for 2A.
Immediately after 2A, the athlete may begin their lifting attempts. For example, an athlete finishes event 2A in time 5:10, he/she has time until 11:10 to build up 1RM of clean&jerk.
There is no limit to the number of attempts the athlete can make within the 6-minute time period. Any successful attempt where the bar leaves the ground before the 6-minute time cap will count.
Athlete’s score from workout 2B will be the heaviest credited lift in kilograms.
Event 3 for time:

21 burpee to target
15 thruster 50/35kg
15 burpee c2b
9 thruster 50/35kg
9 burpee bar muscle-up
Time cap: 10min

Event 3 is a 21-15-9 of thrusters, burbee to target, thrusters, burbee chest to bar pull-ups, thrusters and burbee to bar muscle-ups for time. Athlete starts standing tall behind the weightlifting bar. After the call of “Go,” athlete performs 21 thrusters. After completing the 21 reps
of thrusters, the athlete moves to the pull-up bar and completes 21 reps of burbee to target. When the athlete has completed all the assigned reps of burbees, athlete moves back to the weightlifting bar and performs 15 reps of thrusters. Then the athlete moves back to the pull-up bar and completes 15 reps of burbee chest to bar pull-ups. For the last round, the athlete performs 9 reps of thrusters and finishes the workout with completing 9 reps of burbee bar muscle-ups. Time stops after the final burpee bar muscle-up has completed.
Athlete’s score will be the total time it takes to complete all the reps or the number of reps completed within the 10-minute timecap.
