Social Competition 2024
About This Competition
Welcome to the Social Competition 2024, A CrossFit Licensed Event. This year marks the 3rd Consecutive running of the Social Competition hosted by Social Garden CrossFit at our CrossFit Affiliate Facility in Mission, Texas.
CrossFit competitions are always a celebration of fitness. They are a way for the community to get involved with the competitive side of CrossFit and test their fitness against athletes locally or around the world.
This year's event will be hosted at our Social Hangar Facility in Downtown Mission Texas. The event will take place on July 27, 2024.
Coolers, Food and Pets are always welcomed and we will also have on-site vendors for your convenience.

Event 4: Acid Rain
For time complete the following decending and ascending reps of:
Wall Ball Shots 10'/9' target
Reps 50 - 40 - 30
into
Hang Power Snatch
Reps 30 - 40 - 50
Division weights:
RX: 20/14#, 95/65#
Intermediate/Masters: 20/14#, 75/55#
Novice: 14/10#, 45/35 lbs (no dropping of empty bar, if a bar is intentionally dropped, a 10 second delay hold will be enforced.
Event Scoring: For Time
Event Time Cap: 13 minutes
Event Tiebreak: Yes - time recorded at completion of the first 50 wall ball shots.
Events 2 & 3 run back to back on a 9 minute continous timer.
Event 3: Green Thumb Complex
Establish a 1 Complex Max Load before 9 minutes expire of:
- 2 Deadlifts
- 2 Hang Power Cleans
- 2 Front Squats
- 2 STO
- 2 Low Hang Clusters
Novice Division ONLY: 1 rep of each movement for the Complex.
See Event Video for Complex standards. Weight may be increased upon successful or unsuccessful attempt BUT load may not decrease upon successful or unsuccessful attempt.
Barbell will be unloaded at start of event. Athlete may not receive any help in loading his/her barbell and must declare the weight to the judge. Athlete must have spring collars on barbell before lift start.
Each station will have the following plates to be used in any combination at the athletes discretion to find a max load of the complex:
45 lb plates (2), 35 lb plates (2), 25 lb plates (2), 15 lb plates (2), 10 lb plates (2), 5 lb - a total plate weight of 270 lbs.
Males: 45 lb barbell
Females: 35 lb barbell

Event Time Cap: 9 minutes

1.5 BW Deadlift
1.0 BW Bench Press
0.75 BW Clean
Intermediate/Masters Division:
10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Reps, For Time:
1.25 BW Deadlift
0.75 BW Bench Press
0.50 BW Clean
Beginner Option
8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Reps, For Time:
0.75 BW Deadlift
0.50 BW Bench Press
0.33 BW Clean
Athlete weigh in will occur at athlete check-in.
All weights will be rounded DOWN to nearest 5 pound increment. (187 --> 185)
All athletes will have a spotter by default but may use their own spotter as well for the bench press. A Spotter is mandatory. If you will be using a spotter of your own, please be prepared to submit their name during athlete check-in. Your spotter must be present at the athlete briefing on Saturday morning - 6:30 am.
Event 2:
Max Effort run of an undisclosed distance without any prior knowledge of route. Volunteers will line the route the day of the event. Immediately finishing Event 2, Event 3 will begin.
