IT'S A BATTLE


The 6th edition of the Strongest Man of Aruba competition will be held this year at MooMba Beach Bar! Held from Friday Saturday sept. 29th 30th until October 1st.

September 29th starting at 5pm, MooMba beach will be a showcase of sheer willpower, incredible strength, trembling muscles, bulging biceps and other well-trained body parts.

This is a 3 day Competition with every day 2 Events for the Strongman. <105 and >105kg category, with a price ceremony after 3 days.

And everyday 1 Challenge for Women Open Class. After each Challenge there will be an Price ceremony for the winner.

We have an 4 times Dutch Champion Alex Moonen who will judge for us.

There will be enough parking spots at and around the venue.

Workouts

Event Atlas stones
 
• 10 minutes before start time you are ready at the indicated position
• 1 minute before time you will be brought to the starting position
• On signal 3-2-1 GO the event starts and you can go towards the first atlas stone
• 5 atlas stones have to be lifted from light to heavy
• Weights are 80, 95, 115, 130 and 150kg -100
• Weights are 95, 115, 130, 150 and 165kg +100
• The atlas stones must be placed on the pallets in a controlled manner
• Tacky may be used also sleeves are permitted
• Strongman with the fastest time wins
• In case of a tie, the time of the heaviest lifted stone will be considered
• For this event 120 seconds per Strongman

Event Car Deadlift
 
•       10 minutes before start time you are ready at the indicated position
•      1 minute before time you will be brought to the starting position
•       On signal 3-2-1 GO the deadlift for reps starts and you can start with the deadlifts
•       Deadlift is approved when you are fully extended and with your shoulders behind the bar
•       For each correct repetition, the judge will whistle
·        For every NO rep the judge will cross his hands in front of you and say NO REP
•       The bar must be lowered under supervision, hands on the bar
•       Touch n Go is NOT allowed, you can keep your hands on the bar
•       Mixed grip is allowed, also straps are allowed
•       Strongman with the most reps wins
•       In case of a tie, the same number of points
•       For this event 60 seconds per Strongman
•      Weight -105 only the car. +105 with extra Weights on the platform

Event Keg throw
 
• 10 minutes before start time you are ready at the indicated position
• 1 minute before time you will be brought to the starting position
• On signal 3-2-1 GO the Keg throw starts and you can walk towards the lightest keg
• The keg must be thrown over a height of 5m +105 / 4,5m -105 and if successful you can throw the next keg
• They are empty 30 liter kegs that go from light to heavy 10kg – 15kg – 17,5kg – 20kg
• If your attempt fails, you have to do it again until you throw the keg over it
• After throwing all 4 kegs over 4,5/5m meters, the time stops when the last keg touches the ground
• Chalk, Elbow sleeves and Belt may be used
• Strongman with the fastest time wins the event
• If it is not possible to throw the 4 kegs over the 4,5/5m meters within the time limit, the number of successful kegs plus the time of the last achieved keg counts. (tie break time, fastest time wins)
• For this event 90 seconds per Strongman

Event Loglift
 
• Loglift event is done in 2 heats -105 / +105
• This event is for max repetitions in 90 seconds
·       Weights -105  92kg
·       Weights +105 107kg
• The lift is good when you are fully extended, knees, hips and arms with your ears past your arms, and when you are in control of the log
• The lift is done with a clean and strict press / push press and should be performed in a smooth movement
• Double dipping (push jerk) is not allowed
• At the judge's signal by means of a whistle, you may drop the log on the cushions
• Drop the log carefully otherwise your attempt will be rejected
• There is sports tape on the log and chalk can be used
• Wristbands, knee sleeves/wraps, elbow sleeves and Belt may be used
• Strongman with the most reps has won
We also use tiebreak times for each rep, for example 2 athletes have 6 reps but athlete 1 did his 6th rep and completed 10sec faster as athlete 2 then he will get the highest score
• In case of a tie, the same number of points

„• At signal 3-2-1 GO the Medley starts and you can head towards the first object
„• Medley starts with 2 Circus Dumbbells (45kg&50kg -105) ( 50kg&55 +105)
„• Each repetition starts from the floor, then the dumbbell is placed on the shoulder with 2 hands from there you can make a shoulder to overhead with 1 hand
„• For each correct repetition, the judge will whistle
„• The dumbbell is placed on the correct cushion (safety)
„• after completed the Dumbbells the athlete starts with the objects:
„• The weights are moved from A to B and are placed on the appropriate cushions
„1- Yoke             195kg      235kg
„2- Husafell         82kg         92kg
„3- Farmerscarry  80kg       100kg
„4- Sandbag        100kg      120kg
„• Strongman with the fastest time wins
„• Each object has a tiebreak time, so a tie is considered; 1. Who has traveled the most distance with the same object 2. Time of the last object achieved

„• In case of a tie, the same number of points
„• For this event 180 seconds per Strongman

Event Truck Pull
 
• Truckpull event is done in 2 heats -105 / +105
• minutes before your start time you are ready at the designated position
• Here you get a Harness and you have time to adjust it
• 1 minute before start time your harness will be attached to the truck
• At signal 3-2-1 GO the truck pull starts and you try to move the truck from A to B in the fastest possible time.
• It is on paved surface next to moomba
• Make sure you have good shoes with grip.
• Chalk is allowed
• Time stops when front truck passes the line
• The one with the fastest time wins, after that we look to distance achieved
• In case of a tie, the same number of points
• If no time is set, the distance achieved is measured
• For this event 90 seconds per Strongman
