About This Competition
SOMERSET FITNESS GAMES 2023 | BE THE FITTEST IN SOMERSET
Join us on the weekend 11th & 12th February 2023 for the qualification competition by C&S Fitness Bridgwater. There's no RX or scaled, the event caters for all abilities with just a handful of minimum ability requirements per person.
Main Games 15 & 16th April 2023 - YOU MUST QUALIFY!
You are qualifing to be in a place in the Somerset Fitness Games taking place in April to be in a HUGE prize pot and to be named the FITTEST in Somerset 2023!
Located in the middle of Bridgwater right by Riders Motorcyle retail shop on Wylds Road.
Accessible to all abilities, this flagship individual event will feature 3 functional workouts; 1 Event testing your strength & strength endurance with a Olympic Bar. Another event being short and sweet focusing on speed & agility (with an incredible tie breaker if anyone scores the same). And the last event focusing on your endurance with those legs being used to run 1 mile and then ending at our HQ for a under fatique max lift challenge for the remaining time.
The point in qualifying is so that we can put your in advanced or scaled events in the REAL Somerset Fitness Games in April 2023!
Refreshments included are coffee & cakes from local small businesses - keeping you going throughout the day.
Workout demos and movement standards will be announced online in the weeks leading up to the competition.
We will have an onsite sports massage therapist on site to cater for any of your requirements.
We’ll be revealing all of our sponsors and event partners over the coming weeks!
Entry is £30 per person and can be purchased using the link below – places are very limited!
Minimum standards/ability
We're regularly praised for our event accessibility whilst still ensuring a challenging and fun day. There's no RX or scaled with this competition, we just ask that as a guide you are aware and capable of the following:
1 Mile Run
Hang Clean & Press (your choice in weight)
Deadlifts (your choice in weight)
Burpees
Front Squats (your choice in weight)
These are an example of the types of movements you’d need to be able to perform, not a guarantee they will all appear!

3 Hang Clean & Press
The athlete must start their lift within the first 5 seconds of each minute for their lift to count.
The bar cannot touch the floor during the 3 hang clean & presses once it's left the floor until those 3 reps are completed.
You must choose a weight you are going to start with and you are NOT allowed to drop down a weight at anytime. For example: If I start with 50KG, then go to 60KG in the 2nd min but fail I cannot then go back to 50KG for the 3rd min, your only allowed to increase the weight not decrease the weight.
You must always have clips on the bar and you are only allowed to drop the bar from below chest height.
The event will be scored as follows: If you choose 50KG and complete 3 Hang Clean & Press then your points for that minute will be 50pts. So on and so forth.
All movement standards & scores will be announced on our social media platforms the week of the qualifiers.
