SCALING REQUIREMENTS:

We understand that asking for a scaled only division is a broad statement, but we want to keep this as fair as possible, so we ask that all box owners/coaches/athletes use their best judgment when creating the scaled team.

This is a TRUE scaled division. Our first REQUIREMENT is in order to participate as Scaled, athletes must not have registered as an RX athlete in any CrossFit Open or have competed in any past 615 Throwdown events as an RX athlete. We understand the goal of winning Battle of the Boxes is a priority when selecting a team, but we are asking owners/coaches to be a part of the process because you know your athletes and their abilities and how they need to register accordingly.

We will be releasing an Online Placement workout in the next couple weeks which will help athletes and teams better understand the separations between divisions. As of now the standards are strictly based off of the 2023 CrossFit Open, if you could complete all movements as prescribed you are considered an RX athlete. However, just because you could not complete all movements RX in the Open does not mean you are a Scaled athlete.

TOP 3 TEAMS IN EACH DIVISION WILL MAKE THE PODIUM AND WILL BE AWARDED VARIOUS PRIZES FROM OUR SPONSORS. Cash to the 1st place in each division!

For the Fittest Box Podium - RX AND SCALED SCORES WILL BE COMBINED AND THE TOP THREE BOXES WILL BE AWARDED PRIZES, WITH THE WINNER CROWNED THE CHAMPION OF THE BATTLE OF THE BOXES and take home the cash prize!

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

    Battle 5 & 6

    Online Placement Workouts

Submission due Date 5/7 8:00pm CST

As promised we are requiring all athletes to do placement workouts for this event. These two workouts will allow us to verify the legitimacy of division selection for each athlete/team. With money on the line for both divisions, it is important that we use these workouts as a screening process. We also strive for an extremely competitive competition, and taking these measures allows us to achieve that. These workouts will also be added to the scoring for the overall leaderboard for the May 20th event. With these scores contributing to the leaderboard, it is very important for each athlete to give a full effort regardless of whether or not you feel like you are registered for the correct division.

You will notice both RX and Scaled athletes are completing the same workouts. Having all athletes test the same domains will allow us to gauge each athlete's fitness level based on skill and strength. This leads up back to the premise of these tests : do what you can.

The placements workouts can be completed separately, by each individual athlete at their convenience, but will be scored together as a team for the leaderboard. Each athlete will need to submit their score and video by the deadline to receive a team score for these events.
