About This Competition
GET READY MASTERS ATHLETES...MASTERS OF THE DMV RETURNS ON 27 August 2022! CrossFit Kingstowne will be hosting its 4th annual Masters of the DMV Team competition on 27 August. This event is a one-day team competition strictly for Masters athletes, and will feature four age divisions for athletes 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. This is not a scaled competition for older athletes. This event has been designed to showcase the abilities of Masters athletes in the DMV area. This year we are shaking things up and offering three team categories of Male/Male, Female/Female, or Male/Female with all three team categories competing against each other within your age division for the podium! If you joined us the last few years you already know this event is different from any other Masters competition in the area. For this event you won’t walk away with just a medal, top finishers will receive some pretty sweet prizes to include cash prizes for our first place teams.
REGISTRATION:
Cost: $190 per team (processing fee not included). Early Bird Registration $175 per team between 1 June through 30 June with CODE: EARLYBIRD2022. Registration will go live on 1 June 2022. T-Shirt Order Deadline is 15 July, 2022.
AGE DIVISIONS:
30-39 M/M; F/F, M/F
40-49 M/M; F/F, M/F
50-59 M/M; F/F, M/F
60+ M/M; F/F, M/F
If teams are comprised of athletes in different age categories (e.g. one athlete is 36 and one is 42) then the team must compete in the younger team members age division. Using this example the team would register for the 30-39 division. Athletes will be required to present their IDs upon check-in to ensure a fair competition.

WORKOUT MINIMUM STANDARDS BY DIVISION:
Clean and Jerk: 155/115 (30-39); 135/95 (40-49); 115/80 (50-59+); 95/65 (60+)
Snatch: 135/95 (30-39); 115/80 (40-49); 95/65 (50-59); 75/55 (60+)
Deadlift 275/185 (30-39); 225/155 (40-49); 185/135 (50+)
Double Unders
Chest to Bar Pull Ups (30-39; 40-49); Pull Ups (50-59)
T2B: 30-39; 40-49; 50+ KTE
HSPU: 30-39
These are just examples of potential working weights and minimum movement standards. For the finals, the top five teams in each division will earn a spot in the final workout and should expect to see some higher skill movements such as HSPU, Ring Dips, and Bar Muscle Ups (30-39 division).
PRIZES:
The top three teams in each division will receive some amazing prizes from our awesome sponsors. Additionally the first place team in each division will receive a cash prize. All teams will receive a t-shirt and a swag bag with goodies from our sponsors to include samples, coupons, etc.
REFUND POLICY:
No refunds will be provided after registration. Teams will be able to transfer tickets if necessary, however please note that we will not be able to accommodate t-shirt size changes after the t-shirt deadline has passed.
T-SHIRT/TANK: All athletes and Volunteers will receive an event t-shirt or tank as long as they register before the order deadline. Men's t-shirts run true to size. Women's tanks will be a cropped racerback tank. Female athletes are welcome to order a men's t-shirt if they do not want a cropped tank.
PARKING:
Athletes are requested to park on South Pickett street or in the Cameron Station neighborhood and encouraged to carpool to limit stress on our parking lot. Additional parking is available at the Van Dorn Metro Station and the LA Mart Shopping Plaza. A parking volunteer will be on site to ensure that parking is available for other merchants and customers within the shopping plaza and to ensure there is no double parking. Athletes are encouraged to bring tents and chairs to set up in the alley behind our facility where the Athlete Village will be located. The athlete village will be located outside (rain or shine).

Workouts
WOD 1 will consist of a Thruster Strength Ladder with a side of burpees. Every 90 Seconds for six rounds teams will cash in with ten thrusters, and then with the remaining time they will complete max lateral burpees over the bar. Each Round the barbell will ascend in weight. At 90 seconds, athletes will stop work, and will then have 30 seconds to transition/increase weight on their barbells, starting a new round every 2 minutes. Teams can break up the reps however they like for both the thrusters and the burpees. However, athletes cannot move on to the burpees until they complete their 10 thrusters at the assigned weight for each respective round. If a team cannot complete the thrusters at the assigned weight, their workout ends. For this workout there will be two scored elements, the total number of thrusters completed as well as total burpees completed.

30-39:
R1: 115/75; R2: 135/95; R3: 155/105; R4: 175/115; R5: 185/125; R6: 205/145
40-49:
R1: 95/65; R2: 115/75; R3: 135/95; R4: 155/105; R5: 175/115; R6: 185/125
50-59:
R1: 65/45; R2: 75/55; R3: 95/65; R4: 115/75; R5: 135/95; R6: 155/105

The Second WOD for Masters of the DMV 4 Team Competition on 27 August is: “You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feelin”
WOD 2 will consist of an initial synchronized couplet of Toes to Bar and KB Swings, followed by a longer couplet of Chest to Bar Pull Ups and KB Swings where teams can split the work as needed until completion.

For the first couplet teams will work in a synchronized fashion to complete the toes to bar and Kettlebell Swings. Then in the second couplet teams can split the work as needed until completion. Score will be total time to complete with an 11 Minute Time Cap.

The Third WOD for Masters of the DMV 4 Team Competition on 27 August is: “You Can Be My Wingman Anytime”.
WOD 3 will consist of a partner Relay of Grace and Isabel…with a slight Twist.
Partner 1 will have a five minute running clock to complete Grace (30 Clean and Jerks forTime) followed by Max Wall Walks in the remaining five minute window. At the five minute mark, Partner 1 will tag in Partner 2 who will also have five minutes to complete Isabel (30 Snatches for Time), followed by Max Wall Walks. Your team score will be the total number of Wall Walks completed as a team with a Tie Break of your combined Grace and Isabel time.

Snatch: 135/95 (30-39); 115/80 (40-49); 95/65 (50-59)
Wall Walks: Will follow the standards outlined by CFHQ in the 2022 Open
