Benchmark Battles 2024
About This Competition
Fitness Coliseum is bringing back your favorite CrossFit Competition filled with the CLASSICS (with a twist, of course)!
Teams of two (MM/FF/MF) will work together to complete challenging and fun twists on some of our favorite CrossFit benchmark workouts!
We chose this format because benchmarks are benchmarks for a reason. They are some of the truest tests of our overall fitness, capacity and skill, and THAT is what we want this competition to be!
RX and Scaled divisions will be available, and you can compete on same sex or mixed teams, with a podium for all 6 divisions!
We have some fun, custom SWAG planned for participants as well so GET READY!
Additional Details:
RX Standards: RX participants should be able to do double unders to some degree, be comfortable with a 35/50 DB, 14/20 wall ball, and be able to cycle a barbell in olympic and power lifts at light/moderate weights.
Scaled Standards: Scaled participants should be able to do single unders, be comfortable with a 25/35lb DB, 10/14lb wall ball and be familier with and able do to some cycling of a barbell in olympic and power lifts at light weights
Refunds will be unable to be provided, but substitions are allowed up until check in on comp day.

Workouts
Event 2: Hold On, Diane’s Comin’
For Time:
42-30-18
Deadlifts & Handstand Push Ups
RX:225/155 deadlifts
HSPU performed strict or kipping/HS hold
Scaled: 185/125 deadlifts
Hand Release Push Ups/Plank Hold
For deadlifts to be performed, opposite partner must be holding a handstand/plank. For HSPU or Push ups to be performed, the opposite partner must have barbell held at the top of a deadlift.
Split reps as desired, switch as often or as little as you would like, EXCEPT for the RX division, each partner MUST perform at least 1 HSPU in each round.

Partner 1 will complete 4 rounds of 3 Double DB snatches and 3 line facing burpees. Then partner 2 will do the same. You will then return to partner 1 for 3 rounds, partner 2 for 3 rounds, partner 1 for 2 rounds, partner 2 for 2 rounds, and then finish with each partner completing one final rounds of 3&3.

EVENT 4 - This One’s A Bear!
5 Minutes to accumulate as many rounds of Bear Complex as possible! One partner working at a time. Switch as desired.

Workout 1 will be a version of “Jackie”

50 Thrusters (45/35)
30 Pull Ups
Our version will have you working up and back down through Jackie with a couple twists! We’re keeping the integrity of the chipper style of this workout, challenging you to hit some big sets!
Partners will start on machines, one on a rower, one on an erg bike. You will accumulate 1000m rowing and 2000m biking. Once both distances are complete you can move on.
Partner 1 will then go to the wall and complete ALL 50 of the first set of wall balls (our sub for the thruster), once partner 1 has completed ALL the wall balls, partner 2 may then jump in and complete a full set of 30 pull ups. Once complete, partner 1 may then complete their set of 30 pull ups, followed by partner 2 completing all 50 of their wall balls.
Partners will then return to the machines (the opposite of where you started) and do a buy out of the same distances.
