Explode Classic
About This Competition
Thank you for your interest in the CrossFit Explode Classic competition! We’re excited to share more details about this year’s event, which will take place at CrossFit Explode on November 9th.
The competition will feature three divisions:
RX
Scaled
Masters (+45)
Each division will involve two-person teams consisting of men or women(M/M)(F/F). Teams will compete in three WODs, with the best average score determines the winner.
Workouts will be announced shortly. We’re also pleased to offer cash prizes for the winners of both the RX Men’s and Women’s divisions.

Event 1: “SMOKE SHOW”
Workout Overview: Teams of two (either male or female) will complete the following for time:
Workout Details:
Calorie Bike
Standards: Each athlete must complete the specified calories on the ECHO bike. The calorie count must be verified on the bike monitor. Both athletes can alternate as needed. The count is complete when the monitor displays the required number of calories.
30 Burpee Box Jump Overs
Standards:
Burpee: Chest must touch the ground, and the athlete must stand up fully before jumping onto the box.
Box Jump Over: After standing, the athlete must jump pn or over the box with both feet landing on the other side. The rep is complete when both feet are on the other side of the box, and the athlete is in a standing position.
Reps: 30 reps are required. Both athletes can alternate as needed.
10 x 10-Meter Sled Drag/Push
Standards:
Sled Drag/Push: The sled must be dragged and then pushed for 10 meters per movement. The athlete will use the handles to push and the straps to pull the sled. Each 10-meter section must be completed fully, with the sled passing the 10-meter mark. Both athletes can drag/push the sled individually or alternate.
Reps: Complete 10 rounds of 10 meters each.
After the sled pull/push, the athletes will work in reverse, completing the burpee box jumps and then finishing with the bike calories.
Objective: Complete the entire workout as quickly as possible within the 12-minute time cap.
Scoring: The total time taken to complete all components of the workout will be recorded.

WOD #2 Wet N Wild

Score 1:
You and your partner will complete the required meter row as quickly as possible. When finished, rest until the 10min mark.
Scoring: The total time taken to complete the row will be recorded.

30-20-10 of:
Synchro Thrusters
Standards: Both athletes must complete the thruster movement simultaneously. Full range of motion requires the barbell to start from the front rack position, with the hips and knees fully extended at the top. The barbell must return to the front rack position for the next repetition.
Reps: 30 reps, followed by 20 reps, then 10 reps.
Synchro Toes to Bar
Standards: Both athletes must lift their toes to touch the bar simultaneously. A full rep requires the athletes to start from a hanging position, with arms fully extended and feet off the ground. Toes must touch the bar before returning to full extension with feet off the ground.
Reps: 30 reps, followed by 20 reps, then 10 reps.
Objective: Complete the 30-20-10 rep scheme of Synchro Thrusters and Synchro Toes to Bar as quickly as possible.
Scoring: The total time taken to complete the Synchro Thrusters and Synchro Toes to Bar will be recorded.

Scaled 75/55 Knees to Chest 1,500m/1,000m
Master 75/55 Knees to Chest 1,500m/1,000m
Event 3: “SMASH N GRAB”
Workout Overview: Teams of two (either male or female) will complete the following:
7-Minute AMRAP:
14 Snatches (135/95 lbs)
Standards: The snatch must be performed from the floor to overhead in one continuous motion. The barbell must start on the ground and be lifted directly overhead with arms fully extended and hips and knees locked out. The barbell must be controlled until it reaches full extension overhead. The rep is complete when the barbell is stable overhead with the athlete standing tall.
14-Calorie Run
Standards: Teams must complete 14 calories on the runner. The calorie count is displayed on the rower monitor. Both athletes can alternate as needed. Each calorie must be registered on the monitor for the rep to count.
Objective: Complete as many rounds and reps of the above movements as possible within the 7-minute time frame.
Scoring: The total number of completed reps (Snatches and Calorie Rows) will be recorded.
Score 1: Total reps completed in the 7-minute AMRAP.
Immediately Following:
4-Minute Max Snatch
Standards: Teams will have 4 minutes to establish their maximum weight for a single Snatch. Each athlete may attempt multiple lifts to achieve their max. The barbell must be lifted from the floor to overhead in one continuous motion, with the same standards as outlined above. Only successful lifts where the barbell is stable overhead with full extension of the arms and legs will count.
Objective: Achieve the maximum snatch weight for each athlete individually.
Scoring: The heaviest successful snatch performed by each athlete will be recorded.
