About This Competition

SHATTER SLAM! LETS GOOOO!

​The 2022 Comp will feature 2-Person, Same-Sex Teams 
in RX, Intermediate & Scaled Divisions*


Shatter Slam, by CrossFit Shatter, will be held inside CrossFit House Party in Clifton Park on Saturday, August 20th!
Three Workouts plus a Floater for all Divisions. Final for RX Teams Only
Comp T-shirts for everyone and PODIUM PRIZES for top finishers in all divisions! 


*Your division is determined by the 2022 Open.
We reserve the right to move teams!
If you hit all Open WODs RX, you are an RX athlete and you cannot register Intermediate.
Intermediate is for those who RX'd some and Scaled some of the Open WODs. 
Scaled hit all WODs Scaled. 
You can register UP (ie: Scaled into Intermediate) but not DOWN! 
What if you're a mix? ie: One athlete is RX and one is Intermediate. You are an RX TEAM. Choose your partners wisely, or accept the challenge! 
What if you didn't do the Open? Your partner's Open participation will be the driver and/or we'll stalk your social media and help you choose :)
What if I went RX in the Open, but I'm a Master's Athlete? Likely we will greenlight an Intermediate registration, but again, your partner's abilities are a driver here.

Score is total reps. Tie breaker is time to complete the 4 rounds. 

Details/FAQs:
-ROUNDS MUST BE COMPLETED AS FOLLOWS: Partner 1 will take the first round as written, top down. Partner 2 will be tagged in from a designated area and will take the next round in reverse, bottom up. Partner 2 tags in Partner 1 who takes round 3 top down, etc.
-Leaving the designated area before tagging out is not allowed. You will be asked to go back. 
-Lunges can be step forward or back. Dealers choice. 
-Burpees over Rower can be step overs at every level. No two-foot take off required. 
-Rowing cals can be broken up as necessary. 
-**INTERMEDIATE TEAMS ONLY can choose not to do HSPU and sub 3 Wall Walks instead. This will result in less reps overall as a penalty. This can be chosen by one or both partners.

With a 10 minute running clock-

Partner 1 completes 10 reps at 95#, Partner 2 completes 10 reps at 95#, the team changes weights to 115# 
Partner 1 completes 10 reps at 115#, Partner 2 completes 10 reps at 115#, the team changes weights to 135# 
Partner 1 completes 10 reps at 135#, Partner 2 completes 10 reps at 135#

RX- Men: 95/115/135, Women: 65/75/95
Intermediate- Men: 75/95/115, Women: 55/65/75
Scaled- Men: 65/75/95, Women: 35/45/55

-One barbell per team, must use clips
-Partner 1 must complete all 10 reps at one weight before partner 2 can perform any reps

​FLYBY - Part 2

Immediately following Part 1, with any remaining time-

Each Partner finds a 1RM CLEAN & JERK

Score is combined weight of each partner's heaviest successful lift

-One barbell per team, clips must be used
-Team can work together to change weights
-Partners do not need to hit the same weights. You can go down in weight if a heavier attempt is failed.

Score is Time. Any incomplete reps will add 1 second each to the time cap.

-RX listed above
-Intermediate: Chin-Over-Bar Pull-Ups and Chest-2-Bar Pull-Ups, Deads at 275/175
-Scaled: Ring Rows and Feet Elevated Ring Rows (on two 45's), Deads at 225/155
-No minimum work requirement between partners. Turn and burn reps however necessary.

​GREAT BALLS OF FIRE

Floater - There will be sign-ups for time slots available the day of the comp. 

In 10 minutes, Find a 3 Rep Max of: 

RX - Overhead Squat
Intermediate - Front Squat
Scaled - Front Squat*

Score is combined weight of each partner's heaviest successful lift

Details/FAQs:
-One barbell per team, clips must be used
-Lifts are taken from a rack
-Partners do not need to hit the same weights. You can go down in weight if a heavier attempt is failed. 
-RX Teams can get the bar overhead however necessary (front or back rack, any style press or jerk, etc), no snatch balance allowed. 
-Intermediate Teams must maintain a standard front rack grip.
-*Scaled Teams can use a crossed arm grip, if necessary.
