About This Competition

BRIDGETOWN THROWDOWN 2022, SAME COMPETITION, NEW LOCATION!

It's time to throw down again, La Puente CrossFit is happy to announce Bridgetown Throwdown 2022 is back and bigger than ever! This year we are bringing the throwdown to The Grand Area at the Industry Hills Expo Center located just 5 mins away from our box. At the Grand Arena we are able to host an even greater competition experience: multiple competition floors, with a main 45,000sq foot competition floor, enhanced spectator seating for 5,000 people, larger vendor village/athlete area and increased parking. All the components for a great and memorable competition day! Last year we had 160 athletes throw down and this year we are looking to welcome more! And as always, CASH PRIZE FOR TOP PODIUM SPOTS! Now question is, Are you ready to throw down and battle it out for that top podium spot?!

MOVEMENT STANDARDS

  • Beginner Division: CrossFit for less than a year or first competition, movements will be at the level with the CrossFit Open Scaled standards.
  • Teen: Same weights as the Beginner Division, but will have a slightly higher gymnastic standard (ie. pull ups, double unders)
  • Intermediate/Masters: You do most workouts at the RX level but need to modify due to certain gymnastics movements and/or due to barbell/DB/KB weight.
  • RX: You consistently do your Box programming at the RX level without scaling or modifying.

  • February 14-March 13 | $145
  • March 13 - July 10 | $165
  • July 11-September 1 | $185

Every Registration includes: (1) T-shirt*, (1) Athlete Banner*, (1) Parking Pass, (1) Access to Competition Photos (Will be e-mailed link after the Competition), (1) Full day of competition

REFUND POLICY

Ticket purchases are final and non-refundable. No refunds accepted towards any registration fees. We will allow athlete transfers up until September 15, 2022, after this date no transfers will be accepted. By registering, athletes knowingly are agreeing to the Refund Policy.

WORKOUT FLOW

This workout begins with the athlete standing on the ski erg. After the call of “3, 2, 1... go!” the athlete will have 3 minutes to complete 20/15 ski erg calories, followed by 150ft sandbag carry (75 feet out and back) and in the remaining time perform MAX Sandbag to shoulder. Score is Sandbag to Shoulder repetitions.

SCORING

Reps of Sandbag to Shoulder completed at the 3 min mark.


MOVEMENT STANDARDS

SKI

All athletes will complete the prescribed 20/15 calorie ski on the Concept 2 Ski Erg.

SANDBAG CARRY

Sandbag will be cleaned off the ground and carried the distance prescribed. Distance will be 75ft out and 75ft back. Athletes can choose the type of carry they wish to do. Types of carries allowed: bear hug (held in front of the athlete’s chest, with arms wrapped around the side of the sandbag) or carried on the athlete’s shoulder.

SANDBAG TO SHOULDER

We will be following CrossFit Games 2022 Max Sandbag Event Standards. Sandbag must go from the ground and clearly pass over the top of the athlete’s shoulder. The sandbag can not roll off the side of the shoulder. Athletes must show control with each rep, hips/knees extended and be able to take one hand off of the sandbag.
