About This Competition

This September, our 7th annual Raise the Bar is back!
Raise the Bar is a same-gender partner competition and fundraiser for the Lakes Region Children’s Auction, a non-profit that raises money for organizations that DIRECTLY benefit children in our local area.

The organizations that receive assistance range from providing clothing and food, to school supplies and Christmas presents, and more. The Children’s Auction does SO MUCH for our local community; we want to give back in the best way we know how - running a comp!

Join us in helping out a fantastic cause and stay tuned for the team sign-up link, WOD Standards, WOD releases, and more!

Workouts

6 rounds, 3 rounds each (15:00)

2:00 on, :30 transition

20 Double Unders

8 Burpees Over Rower

Remaining Time

Max cal row

Partners are working one at a time. RX burpees must be a two foot take off. Feet must go over the rower, not around. A one foot hop, will be a no rep. Burpees can be lateral or facing the rower. Chest and thighs must hit the ground before standing up. Both stepping or jumping up/down are acceptable. If no repped on the jump, must repeat the jump, not the burpee. If no repped on the burpee, must repeat the burpee. Scaled will follow the same standards except they are allowed to step over the rower.

Rowers will be reset after each partner as the judge keeps track of each round to total at the end.

8:00 AMRAP Working 1:1

10 Pull-Ups

5 Hang Power Snatches 75#

One partner works through the round while the partner accumulates calories on the bike.

The pull-up standard counts a good rep where the athlete starts with locked out elbows and the chin clearly passes the pull-up bar. For Scaled, the bar will be at a height that hits the middle of the forearm. The athlete must lower their body until their arms are fully locked out. A rep is considered good once the chin clearly passes the pull-up bar.

Hang power snatches begin with a clear deadlift of the bar to full hip extension, then lowered before going overhead. Hips and elbows must be fully extended before the bar can come down.

One partner works through the round of 2A while the partner accumulates calories on the bike. Score is combined max cals on the bike

1 mile run

Both athletes must complete the initial run as a buy-in. The time of the initial run will be score 3A.

With the remaining time, athletes will get as many attempts at a heavy clean and jerk. Cleans can be power or squat, but must come from the floor. Jerks may be push or split. Athletes must show a complete lockout and stabilization of the bar overhead and wait for the signal from their judge before bringing the bar down.

After the initial attempt, athletes must then complete a 200m run before every next attempt. Athletes do not have to run together. For instance, if one athlete is finished lifting, their partner can continue without them.

If an athlete fails an attempt, the clean or the jerk, there is a 200m Run penalty. This is only for the athlete that fails, not both.
