About This Competition

The CS&F Summer Classic is back, this time: SUPERTEAM EDITION!

On July 15-16, 2023 (Saturday & Sunday), Cumming Strength & Fitness will host The Summer Classic:

  • 2 days
  • 3 venues
  • Elite, RX, Scaled & Master's Division (team average age = 40)
  • 3-6 athletes per team / mix-gendered teams
  • Only 3 athletes compete per event (other athletes sit out)
  • 6 total events (floater workout included)
  • Swim event included
  • Vendors
  • Prize money for winners

FLOW: At the start of 3, 2, 1 ... GO, 2 athletes will start the synchro TTB / knee raises. The synchro happens at the top. The 3rd athlete can switch in and out whenever (no minimum work requirement). After the TTB / knee raises are complete, athletes will pick up their rope and run the 2 mile / 1 mile loop (directions will be provided). All 3 athletes must hold the rope during the entire duration of the run. Once the run is complete, athletes will complete the synchro Burpee Box Get Overs, with the synchro happening at the bottom of the burpee.

Flow: Each athlete completes the workout in relay fashion for max reps. Athlete A will complete the entire workout, then there will be a :15 reset, and then Athlete B, then C. There will be 3 barbells in the lane, all preloaded. Athletes will run from the start to the first barbell to complete as many reps of Front Squats in :30. After the :30, athletes will set the bar down, step over the barbell and proceed to the next barbell. There is no transition time between movements. The same progression will happen for all movements.

Flow: At the start of 3, 2, 1 ... GO, Athletes A & B will start the 50m swim each. Pool configuration will be in 50m lengths (no turnaround at 25m). Jumping / diving into the pool will be permitted. After the 50m swim, both athletes will get out and perform 20 Synchro Goblet Squats, holding the plate on their chest with 2 hands the entire time. After the 20 reps are complete, Athletes A & B will swim back 50m to the other side of the pool for 20 Synchro DB Hang Snatch. Each athlete must deadlift the DB before starting the Hang Snatch. Athletes must alternate hands every rep. After 20 reps are complete, Athlete B will rest the next round, and Athletes A & C will execute the next round. After that full round is complete, Athletes B & C will complete the following round.

Flow: All athletes start behind the starting line. Athlete A will complete the Calorie Bike & Rope Climbs (Single Unders), and then proceed to the barbell for C&J. Athlete B cannot start until Athlete A finishes their rope climbs (single unders). Once Athlete B gets to the C&J, Athlete B can help Athlete A chip away on the C&J, and the same applies to Athlete C. Any athlete order is allowed for all 4 intervals.

Flow: There are 2 scores for this event: how many completed row transitions & rounds/reps of AMRAP. Athlete A will start on the rower, while Athletes B & C start on the AMRAP. At the start of 3, 2, 1 ... GO, Athlete A will row the prescribed calories. After the rowing is done, that is 1 rep. Athlete A can switch to the AMRAP only if Athletes B & C are on the box or pull-up bar (CANNOT SWITCH DURING THE SHUTTLE RUN). Athletes B & C will chip away on the AMRAP, increasing 2 reps each round. The synchro for the Box Jump Overs happens on the other side of the box (at the completion of the jump over). The same standard applies for the DB Box Step Overs (DB can be held in any way). [ ELITE ONLY ] The synchro Bar MU happens at the TOP of the Bar MU. For the shuttle runs, the entire body + 1 hand must touch behind the line (same standard as CF OPEN). The synchro for the shuttle runs happens with both athlete's hand touching behind the line.

FLOW: This event must be performed on the athlete's off time (not performing another event). This will be an open, "floater" station that athletes must complete before the weekend concludes. Each team will designate 3 athletes for 1 attempt each for each movement. All 3 athletes must attempt in the same sitting. 1 athlete will complete [ SCORE 1 ], then there will be a short reset for Athlete 2 to complete [ SCORE 2 ], and the same for [ SCORE 3 ] (not performing at same time. 1 athlete working at a time).

  • ​Strict HSPU: Hands (including fingers) must be inside the taped box (40" x 24"). If tape is touched, rep will not count. (SAME STANDARD AS CF GAMES).
  • C2B Pull-ups: Full lockout at the bottom each rep. Chest must touch bar every rep. Strict, kipping or butterfly is allowed. 
  • Weighted GHDs: Wallball must touch ground & top of GHD every rep.
  • Hand Release Push-Ups: Chest must touch ground, elbows locked out, and the entire hand must clear the ground every rep.
  • Pull-Ups: Chin over the bar each rep, full lockout at the bottom. Strict, kipping or butterfly is allowed.
  • Partial GHDs: Shoulders must be even with the hips on descent, and hands must touch the top of the GHD every rep.
