About This Competition

WELCOME TO the osos classic!

The first event at Osos Negros Gym, we are thrilled to throw this event and hope that you enjoy the experience we are trying to create. For details on divisions please scroll down below.


Event Dates and descriptions are posted below. This is the RX division, and will take place a week prior to the scaled division.


RX DIVISION REQUIREMENTS


This is our “Fire Breather” and “Intermediate” division.

You are RX if you can perform the following movements, and move the following

weights without an issue.


  • Bar Muscle ups
  • Rope Climbs
  • Pull ups
  • Toe to Bar
  • Power Snatch (135/95)
  • Clean & Jerk (255/165)
  • Thrusters (135/95)
  • DB Efficiency (50/35)
  • Bench Press (205/125)
  • Wall ball (20/14)


Note: These weights reflect most of the weights used in the work outs.


IMPORTANT DATES

Our competition will be hosted throughout two days however it will be divided by these two days for both divisions.


December 05: Workouts 1, 2, 3 & 4


December 06: Workouts 5 & 6


Schedule for the days will be posted a week before the competition

Workouts

Bear Strength


At the call of 3, 2, 1. .


Athletes will have a total of 7 minutes to establish a

1 Rep Max Snatch

1 Rep Max Clean & Jerk


Details:


Athlete 1 will Perform a Snatch once he/she has completed a successful lift at what they feel is their heaviest load for a 1 rep max Athlete 2 will then perform a Clean & Jerk.


You are allowed to wear, lifters, belt, and knee sleeves are permitted.


Athletes have a total of 7 minutes to complete both lifts, this means that they are in charge of how they will split these 7 minutes so that they can both get their true 1 rep max.


Standards: Any style of lift is permitted for both lifts as long as the lift starts from the floor,

Example: Squat, Split, Power, Muscle. the athlete must reach full lock out and show control at the end of the lift in order for this to count. if you step outside your area it will be a NO REP.


A hang is NOT PERMITTED.


Tie Breaker: There will be NO tie breaker instead we are avoiding this by giving you fraction plates from .5 lbs to 1 lbs. You are responsible for loading these on your barbell NOT your judge.


Score: Will be the total amount of pounds lifted by both partners.

At the Call of 3, 2, 1. . .


Athletes will perform the following chipper


For Time

60 Bench Press (175/105)

40 Bar Muscle ups

60' One arm Overhead Walking Lunge (50 lb Dumbbell/ 35 lb Dumbbell)


There is a 12:00 Cap to this event


Details: Athletes will begin at the wall and run to the bench they are designated, then they will begin with 60 bench press, once all 60 bench press are completed they will move on to the 40 bar muscle ups, once these are done they will run to their starting matt from which they will perform a back and forward length of one arm overhead lunges, tag their partner and partner 2 will complete the event. Only ONE ATHLETE WORKS AT A TIME


Standards:


Bench Press- Contact at the chest is required when the bar is coming down, and full extension of the elbows must be reached in every single rep in order for it to count.


Judges will keep an eye on athletes how ever neither partner is allowed to spot their partner on the bench, no other contact is allowed on the bar other than the person performing the bench press unless he or she calls for a spot at which case it will be considered a NO REP.


Bar Muscle up- Arms must be completely extended at the top and athlete must start at a hanging postion for the rep to count. You will be assigned a bar accordingly.


One Arm Lunges- you may pick up the dumbbell how ever you like, once overhead your arm must maintain full extension the whole way through. Steps in between will NOT be permitted they will result in a NO REP and you will be told to go back from where the skip was taken. Knee must touch the floor in order for the rep to count. Hip extension at the top is required after every rep from the bottom.


Score: Your score is the amount of time ti takes you to complete the event if it is not completed you will receive a 12:00 + the number of reps needed to complete if there is a tie for what ever reason who ever got to the next portion of the event first will win the tie.

At the call of 3, 2, 1. . .


Athletes will perform the following rounds of intervals


Round 1 (2:00)

12/8 Calorie Assault Bike

10 Toe to Ring

Max Wall Balls (20/14)

The Goal is to Complete 150 Wall Balls before time runs out in the last Interval


Details: Athletes will begin behind their bike at which point partner 1 will begin his or her set of calories. Once partner 1 has completed their calories they will move to their set of toe to ring at which point partner 2 may start their set of calories. Once partner 1 is done with their toe to ring they may begin doing wall balls at which point partner 2 may start their set of toe to ring. Once partner 2 has finished their to to ring they may join partner 1 in the wall balls. You will have 2:00 to complete the bike, toe to ring, and complete as many wall balls as you can in the time left. We will call time you will have a 1:00 Reset and then begin the next round, on your final round you will have 3:00 because we are adding the 1:00 reset, since its the last round. Your goal is to reach 150 Wall Balls before the end of the workout.

NOTE: only one person works at a time on the wall balls.


Standards:


Bike: Feet and Hands must stay on the bike at all times if they come off before the set is done it will be a NO REP. Your screen must read 12/8 Calories before you get off at which point you must bring the bike to a complete stop before your partner hops on, no add on calories will be permitted you must complete your own set of 12/8.


Toe to Ring:

Athletes must start in a hanging position, athletes feet must make contact with the ring in order for the rep to count. Any style of grip is permitted. Feet must pass the upright when coming down from the ring.


Wall balls:

hip crease below the knee full extension at top ball must clearly pass the 10/9 foot mark.


Score: Is the time it takes you to complete the 150 wall balls this will include the 1:00 reset

, if you do not complete the event before the cap your score will be 12:00 plus the amount of wall balls needed to complete 150. In case of a tie, the winner will be decided by whomevers partner 2 finished the toe to ring faster on their last set.

Athletes will perform the following couplet


3 Rounds For Time

15 Synchronized Overhead Squats (135/95)

400 Meter Partner Rope Run


There is a 10:00 Cap for this event


Details: Athletes will start in their lanes and run to their barbells, at which point they will begin with synchronized overhead squats, once they are done they will pick up their rope and run 400 meters and do this for three rounds trough.


Standards:


Overhead Squats: These can be picked up any which way you like to reach the full lock out at top. You may start with a squat snatch and that will count as one rep as long as both partners meet at the bottom. The synch like mentioned before is met at the bottom of the squat. Both partners must reach below parallel for the reps to count.

Full lock out at the top of the squat is required from both athletes both in the arms and hips.


Run: You and your partner must both be holding on to the rope at ALL TIMES if the rope is dropped their will be a :05 Penalty added to the final time. Both athletes must cross the finish line in order for the timer to stop. You will advance your rope for each round.


Score: Is the time it takes you to complete the event if you do not complete the event before the cap your score will be 12:00 plus the amount of


if you do not complete the event before the cap your score will be 10:00 plus the amount of Overhead squat reps needed to complete the event. In Case of a tie the winner will be the team who finished their last set of squats first.

Athletes will perform the following couplet

Jerks (205/125)

Rope Climbs


There is a 7:00 Cap for this event


Details: Athletes will begin in their assigned lane run to their barbell and start with the jerks. Each athlete is only allowed to do half of the reps of each set for example athlete 1 will do 6 jerks and then athlete 2 will do 6 jerks that will complete their set of 12, then move on to the rope climbs. The same goes for the rope climbs each athlete will do 6/6 to complete the set of 12 and they will continue to do this until they finish their event. Only one athlete is permitted at the rope climb once the athlete at the rope climbs is done he or she will run back to the barbell to tag their partner in.


Standards:


Jerks: Any style of jerk is permitted, (Split/ Push/Squat) the athlete much have full extension in both the arms and the hips in every rep for it to count. If they do not extend hips but do extend arms it will be a NO REP.


Rope Climbs: Any rope climb style is permitted, in order for the rep to count the athlete must clearly touch the top of the beam, and must come down in a controlled manner to the marker.


Score: Your Score is the amount of time it takes you to complete the event. If you do not complete the event your score will be 7:00 + amount of reps needed to finish. If a tie occurs the winner will be the team that finished the prior movement faster.

ATHENA


At the call of 3, 2, 1 . . .


Athletes will begin Part A of ATHENA (Event 6)


Athlete 1: Suicide

Athlete 2: Suicide


Details: Each team will be in their lane, when the call of 3, 2, 1 Go, is called athlete 1 will complete a suicide sprint that is composed of 4 lengths of about 18' each, once athlete 1 completes the suicide sprint they will tag athlete 2 at which point athlete 2 will run the same course.


Standards:

Suicide- you must touch the line every time with you hand if you fail to touch the line it will be a NO REP and you will have to perform that length again.


Score: Is the time it takes both partners to complete the relay, if there is a tie athletes 1 time will decide the winner.

Once the Cap is Reached there will be a 2:00 RESET


At which point teams will be split and Athlete 1 will begin at the starting line to complete Part 2 of ATHENA

Once Athlete 1 completes their section they will run to the middle of the floor were athlete 2 will be waiting to get tagged once they are tagged they will perform the same

Once Athlete 2 has finished they will run across the finish line to complete the Event.


There is a 10:00 Cap for this part of the event.


Standards:


Pistols: Must be below parallel, and have a full extension every time you come up, you must stand up only with the foot you went down with, if your opposite foot touches before full extension it is a NO REP. You may hold your foot while going down, how ever the foot being extended on the pistol may not touch the floor at any point or it will be a NO REP.


Snatches: Any style of snatch is permitted (Split/Power/Squat/Muscle), there must be a full extension at the top and hips for every rep to count.


Bar Facing Burpees: You must Be facing the bar at all times, chest must make contact with the floor every time at the bottom, their must be a two foot take off on every rep. If you make contact with the bar it will be a NO REP.


Score: Is the time it takes you to complete the event if the event is not completed in time you will have a 10:00 + the number of reps needed to complete the event. If a tie happens athletes 1 time will declare the winner.
