About This Competition

CrossFit Kohen is turning 3!

We are so excited to partner with the CrossFit community to celebrate this milestone! What other way to celebrate than to do what we do best- FITNESS and share the Good News of Jesus!?

To celebrate our third anniversary, CrossFit Kohen is throwing a celebration that combines high-energy competition with a meaningful cause. Not only is this a great opportunity for athletes of all levels to test their skills in a friendly but competitive environment, but it also serves as a fundraiser to support your local CrossFit Kohen community!

The competition willinclude a series of diverse, challenging workouts designed to test strength, endurance, agility, and overall fitness.

Kohen Turns 3 will be a partner (M/M, F/F) competition ranging from beginners to seasoned CrossFit athletes! We will have 4 divisions. (RX, Scaled, Beginner, Teens) ANYONE and EVERYONE is invited to participate! There is a division for YOU! :)

BARBELL COMPLEX:

5 Power Cleans

In workout #1, athletes will have 8 minutes total for both athletes to find their heaviest weight of the complex. The barbell must start on the floor, then the athlete will do 5 power cleans, 5 thrusters, 5 shoulder to overhead and 5 power cleans all unbroken. NO CHANGE PLATES ALLOWED UNDER 2.5’S.


Each partner will complete all 20 reps unbroken.

 

Standards: 

Power clean- Athlete must touch the ground after the deadlift and go directly into the power clean (SQUAT CLEAN IS NOT ALLOWED), movement is complete when athlete stands up all the way after catching in the power position.


Thruster: The bar stays in the front rack position, perform a full squat and ensure that you squat below parallel and then press the bar overhead in one continuous motion.  (You can rest the bar in the front rack position.)


Shoulder to Overhead- Athletes can strict press, push press, or push jerk, or split jerk. The movement is complete when the athlete stands up all the way with their knees and hips locked out, as well as arms locked out overhead.
