About This Competition

Calling all athletes!

(This event will be hosted at the San Antonio Fitness Expo put on by BATAC)

This event is for athletes of all levels of Crossfit to come and challenge their weaknesses and show us their strengths!

Monster Mash Bash will be 3 events that will bring the MONSTER out in you. These events will require grit and technique! This will be a day where everyone can throwdown and have fun with their friends and go up against some killer opponenets!

Scaled/ Intermediate/ Rx divisions available for athletes to choose from. 

Workout Release Dates: Workouts will be released prior to the event date and at a range of different times.  Movement standards will be released to all athletes prior to live registration.

Substitutes: You will be elegible to sub any athlete out, up to a week prior in the case of illness / injury! We would still prefer it be you to compete but we understand things do happen.  If a substitute is unable to be found, your entry is non-refundable.

Workouts

Upon completion of event 1 WOD 1.

Athletes will have up to 6 mins to establish 1RPM

hang squat clean to CLUSTER

One Athlete is working while the other Athlete rests. All lifts must be done on the black mats. If the Athletes complete any part of the lift outside of the black mats, it will result in a no repetition. Athletes may not drop the barbell from over head; this will result in a no repetition. Teams may divide the time as they please.

Athlete will begin by deadlifting the barbell into the hang position. The athlete will perform a Hang Squat Clean.

Athlete must break parallel before ascending with the barbell. The althete must reach full extension of the hips and knees to complete the HANG SQUAT CLEAN.

Upon completing the Hang Squat Clean the athlete will bring the barbell down to deadlift position for the CLUSTER (squat clean to thruster), THE BARBELL MUST TOUCH AND GO, HANDS MAY NOT READJUST at the bottom. 

The Cluster must be completed in one fluid motion from the deadlift following the hang squat clean.  (EXAMPLE: Athlete can not pause at the top of the movement and then push press, atheletes can not pause and readjust at the bottom).

Deadlift weight:

-350/285 (RX)
-325/255 (Intermediate)
-300/215 (Scaled)

3,2,1, Go! Athlete 1 will begin the Double/ Single Unders while Athlete 2 rests. The jump rope must make two full rotations for Double Unders and one rotation for Single Unders. Failed Reps will not count. Reps may be split as the team would like. All reps must be completed before starting the next movement.

Each Burpee begins with both athletes facing the Judge. RX and Intermediate Athletes will jump out and jump in each Rep. Scaled Athletes may step in and step out each rep. Athletes must touch their chest and thighs to the ground at the same time. Athletes may wait at the bottom for the other Athlete to reach the bottom position. Both Athletes must rise to the top together with knees and hips fully extended and feet must leave the ground. All reps must be completed before starting the next movement.

Both Athletes will approach the bar. Hands must be in contact with the bar for the entire rep. Rep begins with both Athletes lifting the bar together. At the top of the movement, both Athletes must have knees and hips fully extended. Athletes may not drop the bar. The rep is counted when the bar comes in contact with the floor. Athletes may touch and go. All reps must be completed before starting the next movement.

Hand Stand Walks
Reps may be split as the team would like. Athlete one is working while Athlete two rests. Each portion is marked at 5ft. Both feet must start behind the line and part of the Athlete’s hands must be touching the line to begin. Athlete must be moving in a forward direction. Both hands must be completely passed and no part of the hands may be touching the 5ft line to successfully cross. If Athlete falls at any point, they must restart from the last line successfully crossed.

Box Walks
24” Box. First line will be the start and finish line and will measure 18” from the edge of the box. The second line will measure 45” for women and 50” for men from the edge of the box. Each rep begins with both of the Athlete’s feet on top of the box. Any part of the hands must start on the starting line. The Athlete will push up and walk their hands back to the second line. Any part of both hands must touch the second line. Both feet must stay in contact with the box at all times during the rep. The rep will be credited when the Athlete walks their hands back to the first line and any part of both hands touches the line.

3 MINS. Team Max Calories Echo Bike

 

3,2,1...GO! 

Athletes can switch as many times as they please to get as many Calories on the Echo Bike in 3mins.

Athletes may begin this workout at the completion of Event 1 WOD 2. Athlete 1 will start on the rower while Athlete 2 rest. Teams may switch as many times as they please, one athlete working and one resting.

There is a MINIMUM of 10 calories for each athlete that must be completed. Athletes may NOT touch the monitor during the workout.

One Athlete is working while the other Athlete rests. All lifts must be done on the black mats. Teams may divide repetitions as they would like. All repetitions must be completed before moving onto the next movement.

Both Athletes will begin behind the line. 3, 2, 1, Go!  Athletes will aproach the bar, partner 1 will being their first set of HPS.

The Hang Power Snatch will begin with the Athlete completing a deadlift. The shoulders must line up with hips at full extension of the hips in the deadlift or result in no rep!

Athlete will begin the hang power snatch from above the knee. The bar may not pass the knees between repetitions. If the Athlete puts the bar down, the Athlete must deadlift the bar before starting the movement again. The repetition is completed when the Athlete comes to a fully locked out position, tripple extension (elbows, hips and knees) at the top of the movement.

Athlete can move onto the push press without dropping the barbell. If the Athlete is beginning with the barbell on the floor, the Athlete must complete a power clean and begin the push press from a front rack position. The repetition is complete when the Athlete comes to a TRIPLE EXTENSION (knee, hips and elbows) at the top of the movement.

Athlete must start the sumo deadlift high pulls from the floor. Athlete may not bounce the barbell in between repetitions. The sumo deadlift high pull is completed when the hips and knees are locked out, the elbows are high and outside, and the bar comes level to the clavicle. 

Athlete will begin with the barbell from the floor. Athlete must complete a power clean or squat clean to bring the barbell to a front rack hold. If the Athlete chooses to do a squat clean to begin, it will count as 1 repetition. Athletes MUST break parallel before ascending not breaking parallel will result in NO REP.

The repetition is counted when the Athlete’s knees and hips are locked out at the top of the movement.

Each Athlete will complete 100ft sand bag carry in between rounds. Athlete 1 must complete 100ft sand bag carry and have crossed the line BEFORE  Athlete 2 can pick up their bag and begin their 100ft sand bag carry.

*Both feet must cross the line before the Athlete can drop the sand bag.

Athletes must do workouts in order WOD1, WOD 2, WOD 3

 

Barbell:

F/F: 75 RX/ 65 INTER/ 55 SCALED

M/M: 95 RX/ 85 INTER/ 75 SCALED

 

SANDBAG: 

FF: 100 RX/ 100 INTER/ 70lb SCALED

MM: 150 RX/ 150 INTER/ 100 SCALED
