Welcome to the Rainhill Summer 2022 - powered by NOCCO UK

Taking place at SPORTCITY in MANCHESTER over the weekend of SATURDAY 16TH JULY and SUNDAY 17TH JULY this no qualifier event is designed to open competition to any and all regardless of your experience. Athletes have completed a series of seeding workouts, the results of which have placed them in one of four levels of competition: Rocket (top level), Kennedy, Rastrick and Wood.

Athetes in the Rastrick and Wood divisions will compete on SATURDAY 16TH JULY

Athletes in the Rocket and Kennedy divisions will compete on SUNDAY 17TH JULY

All athletes will complete four workouts before a cut to the top 15 in each division for a final event.

Spectator tickets are now on-sale for the event at a cost of £10. Tickets are for the full weekend, no single day tickets are available. Under 16 are free of charge accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets will be available on the door but at a cost of £15. No animals permitted in the venue unfortunately.

Athletes have access to the venue for the entire weekend. It is not necessary to buy a separate spectator ticket for the day you are not competing.

WOD 4 starts 1 minute after completion of WOD 3

In 4 minutes establish a maximum weight for a complex of

1 x Clean

2 x Front squat

1 x Shoulder to overhead

If you fail one movement in the complex you may try to repeat that movement and continue with the complex providing the bar does not touch the ground. The second front squat may NOT be linked with the shoulder to overhead in a thruster movement. You must pause after the second front squat before beginning your shoulder to overhead.

The final consists of two separately scored elements, 5A and 5B:

Rocket:

5A:

For maximum reps

2 min max weighted box step overs (2x20kg / 2x16kg)

2 min max Öppen bar alternating forward lunge (50kg / 35kg)

2 min max Ground to overhead (70kg/50kg)

2 min max burpees over the bar

Kennedy:

5A:

For maximum reps

2 min max weighted box step overs (2x20kg / 2x16kg)

2 min max Öppen bar alternating forward lunge (45kg / 30kg)

2 min max Ground to overhead (60kg/45kg)

2 min max burpees over the bar

Rastrick:

For maximum reps
