About This Competition

Welcome to the FULL COUNTER MIXED PAIRS THROWDOWN taking place on January 20th, 2024.

PRICE: £100 PER PAIR (excluding platform fees).

Come join us for our first strength and conditioning competition at CrossFit Walthamstow in London (E17 6AL).

KEY INFORMATION (PLEASE READ)

  • This competition is for MIXED PAIRS. Your team has to be made of 1 male athlete and 1 female athlete.
  • To compete you must be 18+ and be in good physical health (please consult your GP if ever in doubt).
  • Direct entry (no qualifiers).
  • The WODs will be released a week before the event.
  • Please bring a water bottle.
  • Parking is NOT available at the venue.
  • Please do not bring children to this event as we cannot guarantee their safety (babies are fine to bring with you).

Competition timings*:
8am arrival
8:30am athlete brief
9am competition kick off
4:30pm podium
5pm home time

*Subject to change. Full schedule will be released closer to the time.

This event has three categories:
 - Mixed Scaled
 - Mixed Intermediate
 - Mixed RX

Movement standards:
PLEASE NOTE: the movements and weights listed below are only an indication of what athletes need to be able to perform in each category.

FOR ALL CATEGORIES:
- Full range of motion on bodyweight movements (knees to floor on lunges, squatting below parallel, chest to floor on push ups).

SCALED
At least one athlete:
- Knee raises
- Jumping pull-ups
- Jumping chest to bars
Both athletes:
- Single unders
- x2 dumbell 15kg (M) / 10kg (F)
- Clean 50 kg (M) / 30kg (F)
- Snatch 35kg (M) / 25kg (F)
- Deadlift 60kg (M) / 50kg (F)

INTERMEDIATE
At least one athlete:
- Toes to bars
- Pull-ups
- Chest to bars
- HSPU
Both athletes:
- Double unders (or high rep single unders)
- x2 dumbell 22.5kg (M) / 15kg (F)
- Clean 70 kg (M) / 50kg (F)
- Snatch 50kg (M) / 30kg (F)
- Deadlift 85kg (M) / 65kg (F)

RX
At least one athlete:
- All gymnastics movements
Both athletes:
- Double unders
- x2 dumbells 22.5 (M) / 15kg (F)
- Clean 80kg (M) / 60kg (F)
- Snatch 60kg (M) / 40kg (F)
- Deadlift 100kg (M) / 75kg (F)

FAQs

I have purchased a ticket but I cannot compete anymore. What should I do?
All tickets are transferable should you or your team be unable to attend the competition. In order to transfer your ticket to another athlete or team, please contact chloe.dolo@gmail.com.

I am a competitor. How many tickets do I need to buy?
You need to buy 1 ticket per pair.

Will there be prizes for the podium?
Yes! There will be some great prizes.

I don't have all the gymnastics movements but my partner does. Is that ok?
Yes! As long as one of you has the gymnastics movements listed in your category, you're all good.

I am a spectator. Can I buy a ticket on the door?
Yes, you will be able to buy a ticket on site. 

Can I bring my child to the event?
We ask that you do not bring children under 12 to this event as we cannot guarantee their safety. Babies are fine to bring to this event as long as they are constantly supervised by an adult.

Can I bring my dog to the event?
Yes, you can bring your dog to this event. Make sure they are always supervised and do not get in the way of athletes competing.

Can I park at the venue?
There is no parking available on-site.

Will there be food and drinks at the venue?
Yes, there will be food and drinks at the  venue! Athletes, please bring some extra snacks and a water bottle as you will need to fuel properly to compete safely!

What should I wear?
Please bring all your usual sport attire and gear. Also ensure to bring a coat to keep you warm when not working out.

Athletes have 30 seconds per bar and can either:
Clean & STOH = 1 point
OR
Snatch = 2 points

Weights in kg
M (30, 40, 50, 60, 70)
F (25, 35, 45, 50, 55)

Please note: Athletes A and B are in a pair. If athlete A fails to lift a bar within the allocated 30 seconds, their workout is over, meaning they cannot lift anymore. Athlete B will continue going through the ladder until failure or until the end of the workout. 

 

INTERMEDIATE

5 bars ascending ladder

5 ring knee raises
5 synchro hang cleans (40kg/30kg)

Athletes must move on at minute 9

Complete 3 rounds of:
7 scaled wall walks
3 synchro deadlifts (60kg/40kg)

3 rope climbs (3m)
7 synchro hang snatches (40kg/30kg)

Athletes must move on at minute 5

Complete 3 rounds of:
5 ring pull-ups

7 kipping HSPU
3 synchro deadlifts (80kg/55kg)
