About This Competition

Event Description

Fittest at Vandenberg aims to foster a sense of community around Vandenberg AFB through fitness. This competition is being held to find the fittest male and female athletes across the base through the sport of functional fitness. We hope to create an environment that gives everyone the courage to support each other, rise stronger together, and find comaraderie in competition. 

*ATTENTION*

You must be stationed at Vandenberg AFB in order to participate.

Following the online competition, the top athletes (specific amount TBD) in the male and female divisions will be invited to participate in an onsite competition on Saturday, April 17th.

 

The Competition

Over the course of two weeks 4 workouts will be released.

The first 2 workouts will be released on March 30th at 5:00 pm PST and athletes will have until April 5th at 5:00 pm PST to complete and submit their scores.

The second 2 workouts will be released on April 6th at 5:00 pm PST and athletes will have until April 12th at 5:00 pm PST to complete and submit their scores. 

Top ranking athletes will be required to submit a video for quality assurance at the end of the competition.

Bumper Plates

Barbell Clips/Collars

Pull-Up Bar

Dumbbells (50 lbs or 35 lbs for men/35 lbs or 20 lbs for women)

Box (24" for men, 20" for women)

Prizes

Swag Bag for top 3 finishers in each division at the final competition on April 17th.

Devil Press (2 dumbbells)

Alternating DB Step-ups 

2/2, 4/4, 6/6, 8/8, 10/10, etc

Rx: Men use 50-lb. dumbbells and 24" box, Women use 35-lb. dumbbells and 20" box

Scaled: Men use 35-lb. dumbbells and 24" box, Women use 20-lb. dumbbells and 20" box

For Weight:

Find a 1RM Snatch

Time Cap: 10 Minutes

8 Minute AMRAP:

8 Thrusters

8 Toes-To-Bar

Rx: Men use 95-lb. bar, Women use 65-lb. bar

Scaled: Men use 75-lb. bar, Women use 55-lb bar and hanging knee raises instead of toes-to-bar

For Weight:

Find a 1RM Clean and Jerk

Time Cap: 10 Minutes
