7th Annual Beauty and the Beast Throwdown 2023
About This Competition
This competition is a CO-ED, 4 person comp. for the Novice and Intermediate divisions.
STANDARDS:
INTERMEDIATE Should be able to do pull-ups; Double unders; HSPU; dips; overhead squats; rope climbs. MAX METCON WEIGHTS: Snatch 135/95; C&J; 185/125; Deadlifts 315/245. The intermediate division WILL NOT HAVE: Muscle-ups; chest-to-bar pull-ups; strict HSPU; pistols.
NOVICE DIVISION: WILL NOT HAVE: pull-ups; handstand push-ups; overhead squats; dips; double unders. If there are any workouts a team can not complete as written, we will scale that workout down to their skill level however, that team will not be able to score any higher than those who completed the workout as written so everyone can come out and play yet still be fair! MAX METCON WEIGHTS: Snatch 95/65; C&J 135/95; Deadlifts 225/145.
Top 5 in each division will compete in a finals workout!
Tie break will go by a teams highest finish in all workouts including the finals; then continue to go to the next highest place...
There will be no refunds!
Teams will be allowed to change divisions until Monday the 1st of May (the same day registration closes).

TEAM WILL BREAK INTO 2 COED TEAMS.
START BOTH WORKOUTS AT THE SAME TIME.
ONE TEAM ON THE ROWERS TO START AN 8:00 ROW FOR CALORIES.
TEAM TWO WILL FINISH ONE ROUND THEN SWITCH:
25 TANDEM HSPU (TOGETHER AT LOCK OUT)
25 SINGLE JUMP ROPE - 50 SINGLE CROSSOVER - 75 D.U. (one person working)
25 TANDEM HANGING SAND BAG CLEANS (TOGETHER AT TOP / SHOW CONTROL)
NOVICE COMPLETE:
35 TANDEM PUSH UPS (ON A BOX)
25 SINGLE UNDERS - 50 BAR HOPS - 75 SINGLE UNDERS (ONE PERSON WORKING)
15 TANDEM SAND BAG CLEANS (SHOW CONTROL)
Teams will switch when the round of HSPU/JUMP ROPE/SAND BAG is completed then the team that was on the rower must complete the same round and the team that just completed the round gets on the rower to finish the 8:00.
The row score is Cal. in 8:00 minutes. Score 2 is time to complete the 2 rnds of the HSPU/JUMP ROPE/SAND BAG (One round per coed team of 2) (10:00 cap on the two rounds)
TWO ROWERS will be used for the rowing so both athletes will be rowing at the same time.
SAND BAG weights are 100/70 for both divisions.
JUMP ROPE is completed one time with one person working and partners can switch as needed

** 25-20-15-10 TWO PERSON (SAME SEX) - SINGLE DB BURPEE BOX STEP OVERS. ONE BOX 24/20 (FLIP BOX AS NEEDED). ATHLETES WORK TOGETHER IN A CRISS CROSS FASHION OVER THE BOX. INTER=50/35# NOV=35/25#
** 5 ROPE CLIMBS. (NOVICE=20 RING ROWS). ONE ROPE. DOES NOT HAVE TO BE SHARED AMONGST TEAM (ONE PERSON COULD DO ALL 5)
THE WORKOUT WILL END WITH THE 10 BURPEE BOX STEP OVERS IN THE 4TH ROUND, NOT ON THE 5 ROPE CLIMBS FOR SAFETY!
--- ATHLETES MAY CHANGE AT ANY TIME BUT COED MUST ALWAYS BE COED AND SAME SEX MUST ALWAYS STAY SAME SEX.
--- TO SWITCH ATHLETES ON THE SLED, THE SLED MUST BE STOPPED.

* THE MOVEMENT MUST BE COMPLETED BY THE END OF THE TIME FRAME FOR IT TO COUNT

THRUSTERS ARE DONE BY ALL 4 ATHLETS AT THE SAME TIME. ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN WITH A BARBELL THE OTHER 2 WITH DB'S.
** INTERMEDIATE BARBELL 95/65 --- DB'S 50/35
** NOVICE BARBELL 75/55 --- DB'S 35/25
** ALL 4 ATHLETES MUST BE TOGETHER AT THE TOP OF EACH REP
TTB ARE DONE BY ONE PERSON AT A TIME AND EACH ATHLETE MUST COMPLETE A ROUND OF THE 24 TTB --- NOVICE WILL COMPLETE TOES TO WAIST LEVEL.
ATHLETES MAY SWITCH BETWEEN DB AND BARBELL AT ANY TIME
TTB CAN BE DONE IN ANY ATHLETE ORDER BUT EACH ATHLETE MUST DO ONE SET OF THE 24.
