About This Competition

'FITTEST IN THE WEST' is BACK!

Last year was a Vibe! This year we will bring the same Energy.... AND SOME

New Location, New Gym.... BIGGER ... BETTER

A same sex pairs competition (MM/FF) for athletes of all levels to compete in their respective divisions. 

Rookies- intermediate - Advanced- Masters 40+ (NEW)

Standards

The following standards are a guide, to help you choose which division to compete in. 

Rx Male Pairs

Snatch 60kg - C&J 70kg - Thrusters 60kg - O/H Squats 60kg

Bar Muscle Ups - C2B Pull ups - T2B - Handstand walks - Strict HS Push Ups - Double Unders - Box Jumps 24inch

Sandbag 150lb - Dumbells 22.5kg - Run - Row - Burpee

Rx Female Pairs

Snatch 40kg - C&J 50kg - Thrusters 40kg - O/H Squats 40kg

Bar Muscle Ups - C2B Pull Ups - T2B - Handstand Walks Handstand Push Ups - Double Unders - Box Jumps 20inch 

Sandbag 100lb - Dumbells 15kg - Run - Row - Burpee

Intermediate & MASTERS Male Pairs

Snatch 50kg - C&J 60kg - Thrusters 50kg - O/H Squats 50kg

C2B - Pull ups - T2B - Double unders - Box Jumps 24inch - Handstand Walk (Substitute) - Handstand Push Ups (AbMat)

Sandbag 100lb - Dumbells 17.5kg - Run - Row - Burpee

Intermediate & MASTERS Female Pairs

Snatch 35kg - C&J 45kg - Thrusters 35kg - O/H Squats 35kg

C2B - Pull ups - T2B - Double Unders - Box Jumps 20inch - Handstand Walk (Substitute) - Handstand Push Ups (AbMat)

Sandbag 75lb - Dumbells 12.5kg - Run - Row - Burpee

Rookie Male Pairs

Snatch 35kg, C&J 45kg, Thrusters 35kg - Front Squat 35kg

Ring Rows - Leg Raises - Single Skips - Box Step Ups 24inch

Handstand Walk (Substitute) - Push Ups 

Sandbag 75lb - Dumbells 15kg - Run - Row - Burpee

Rookie Female Pairs

Snatch 25kg - C&J 35kg - Thrusters 25kg - Front Squat 25kg

Ring Rows - Leg Raises - Single Skip - Box Step Ups 20inch

Handstand Walk (Substitute) - Push Ups

Sandbag 45lb - Dumbells 10kg - Run - Row - Burpee

Workout Release

Videos will be provided and released for each workout a few weekout before comp day, to enable athletes to understand the flow, loading and movement standards for all events.

Prizes

Top 3 finishes from all divisions at the completion of the competition, will receive prizes with Top 3 RX receiving CASH.

Registration

Each pair registers under a specific division. Pairs must register their team name and individual names and affiliated/unafilliated. Athletes must check the standards before entering into a division. Pairs may switch divisions if there is space available. Waivers are part of the registration process and all pairs must complete a waiver before competing.

The heat schedule will be posted on November 3rd, the cost per pair is $180. This is non-refundable but can be transfered to a new pair up to 48 hours prior to the competition.

FLOW 🌊 On the call of 3, 2, 1, Go…

Both athletes will make their way from the start line down to the ski where ONE athlete will perform one full round of the workout.

After the athlete completes a full round, they will advance a cone forward to signify the completion of that round. Only then can they can run back to tag in their partner.

Athletes must tag in their partner every round. Once 10 rounds have been completed (5 each) and the cone has been moved forward, both athletes must cross the finish line to receive a time.

Calorie Bike Erg - Calorie Row (sametime)

Synchronised Thrusters

Bar Mucle Ups / Pull-Ups / Ring Rows (Shared)

 

WORKOUT FLOW 🌊 On the call of 3, 2, 1, Go…

Both athletes will make their way from the start line to the bike erg and rower, where one athlete must complete 18 calories on the bike erg, while the other completes 18 calories on the rower.

After the athletes complete their calories, they will perform 18 synchronised thrusters at the prescribed weight.

Then, both athletes will complete (depending on the division) 18 bar muscle ups or pull-ups or ring rows. Reps may be shared however.

The weights on the barbell will then be changed (except for ROOKIE) as both athletes make their way back to the ergs to complete rounds 15, 12 and 9.

Thruster weight will increase every round (except for ROOKIE).

Once all rounds are completed, both athletes will make their way to the finish line to receive a time.

FLOW 🌊 On the call of 3, 2, 1, Go…

Both athletes will make their way from the start line to the echo bike and complete 40/30-calories.

Athletes may share the reps however.

After the athletes complete their calories, they will share a 30m handstand walk (dumbbell overhead walking lunge for Rookies) with RX required to perform 7.5m unbroken at a time and Intermediate/Masters 2.5m unbroken at a time.

Then, both athletes will complete 20 synchronised toes to bar (leg raises for Rookies).

After, the athletes will perform 10 synchronised (shared for other divisions) wall walks.

Once the wall walks are completed, the athletes will make their way back through the toes to bar, handstand walk and calories on the echo bike, where both athletes must cross the finish line to receive a time.

WORKOUT FLOW 🌊 On the call of 3, 2, 1, Go…

Athlete 1 will have 5 miniutes to establish a 1-Rep Max Snatch. The athlete may make as many attempts as they like within the time cap.

For the Rep to count the Athlete must comple the Snatch with Knees, Hips fully extended and elbows locked out with barbell over cente of body BEFORE the clock reaches the 5:00 minute mark.

At the 5:00 mark Athlete 2 has 5 minutes to establish a 1-Rep Max Clean & Jerk. The athlete may make as many attempts as they like within the time cap.

For the Rep to count the Athlete must comple the Clean & Jerk with Knees, Hips fully extended and elbows locked out with barbell over cente of body BEFORE the clock reaches the 10:00 minute mark.

The score will be the combinded total score of both athletes heaviest successful lift.
