About This Competition

Grounded CrossFit is hosting it's inaugural annual functional fitness competition, The Humble Games

The Humble Games is a one-day competition consisting of 4 total workouts. The first 3 workouts will be released in the months leading up to competition day. The 4th workout will be released to everyone on competition day.

The Humble Games is a CO-ED Competition (Male/Female Pair) with 2 divisions:

Scaled: Ideal for novice athletes that are still mastering gymnastics and compound (Olympic) lifts. Beginners and first-time competitors welcome!

RX: For experienced competitors looking to be challenged with advanced gymnastics, heavy lifts, and intense aerobic capacity thresholds!

No refunds. Substitutions are permitted but The Humble Games staff must be informed of any team changes before competition day.

Partners must switch after Round 1 (ie. Partner 1 performs Partner 2 work, and Partner 2 will perform Partner 1 work) and all of Round 1 work must be completed (for both partners) before Round 2 begins.

Workout Flow

At 3-2-1-Go! Teams will begin performing 8 power clean and jerks at the first weight, splitting repetitions as desired with only 1 athlete working at a time. After the first set of power clean and jerks, they will begin to perform 60 toe-to-bars together as a team, again splitting repetitions as desired with only 1 athlete working at a time. Then they move back to the barbell and perform 6 power clean and jerks at the second weight. This pattern continues for the rest of the workout. Please note that the weights and movements continue to change as the workout progresses. Teams are responsible for changing the weights of their own barbells, and weight changes may be performed at any time during the workout. Tiebreak for this workout is the time of the last completed set of Clean and Jerks.

Workout Flow

At 3-2-1 Go! both athletes will perform 15 synchronized deadlifts. After the deadlifts, both athletes will then perform 15 synchronized burpee box jump overs. Athletes then move to the round of 12. This pattern continues decreasing by 3 reps each round. The workout is over after completing the final 3 reps of synchronized burpee box jump overs.

Starting with a running clock and an 11-minute time cap (for 3A AND 3B)...

Workout Flow

WOD 3B begins immediately after WOD 3A, with the remaining time of the 11-minute time cap. Teams will choose which partner goes first. Partner 1 will begin with the hang snatches to start the AMRAP. Partner 1 may tag in partner 2 at any time to continue the AMRAP. Teams may continue to swap as many times they want and whenever they want until the time expires.
