Grudge Match IV RESURRECTION
About This Competition
Athlete Banquet:
Basically it's a meet + greet where all Competitors + their family are invited to attend The Gem Hotel (our host venue) to have a refeed meal at 5PM the night before Comp (Friday 5th April).
This is optional + all costs associated will be the responsibility of the Competitors to cover.
To let our Team know you’re attending, email bookings@theempirebodyshop.com + confirm how many seats / highchairs you may need.
The reason why we are having a Banquet is to break the ice + allow many Athletes brand new to the Sport + those who have travelled long distances, to connect with other Athletes before the big day kicks off! It also makes for a way better Event when you know who you’re cheering for!
General Rules:
All Referee Requests + Decisions are Final.
You may seek further clarification from the Promoters or Referees regarding any decision made, however your request for consideration must be done so with respect + discretion or you will be asked to vacate the venue.
True Novice Definition:
The Promoter of this Event deems a “True Novice” as an Individual who has competed in less than 2 Competitions previously or have not previously won a First Place Podium finish at a previous Competition.
A True Novice is seeking an opportunity to try out our sport, for those of you who have experienced this sport for a period of time, it is evident that this Category is not applicable to you.
We ask you to allow for new True Novices to be given the opportunity to experience our sport + fall in love with it like we have.
The Promoter reserves the right to reject registrations for the Novice Category if the Promoter believes that Athlete to not meet the requirements of a “True Novice”.
Junior Definition:
Juniors will be aged from 9 to 19 years old at the time of competing.
This now aligns better with our friends over in America who run America’s Strongest Teen.
All Juniors must be actively participating in Strength Training under the supervision of a Coach to ensure maximum preparedness + safety coming into an Event such as this.
Juniors do not have “Prescribed Event Weights” for safety purposes which can be established during their preparations with their Coach’s guidance.
Juniors will be required to nominate their Competition weights with Parent / Guardian permission no later than 4 weeks prior to the Event so that the Promoter can source the appropriate equipment that is inclusive + most of all – safe!
Once registered, the Promoter’s Operations Team will communicate the relevant information to complete + return.
Juniors under 9 years of age are better suited to Mini Hulk.
Record Breakers:
*All Records will be acknowledged should the Athlete complete all 5 Events (6 Event Option). Records will only be recognised where an Athlete does not zero any other event. All record attempts requested after 4 Week-out deadline will be denied as the Promoters must meet the Minimum Requirements for Record Recognition which requires individual + independent weighing of items prior to event commencement.
Any half-assed attempt on any event will be deemed as poor sportsmanship + that Athlete will be subject to the Warning Process as indicated below.
Email reception@theempirebodyshop.com to Request your Record Breaker.
Late requests may be rejected by the Promoter as all equipment used must be acquired, calibrated + all attempts recorded correctly under the guidelines.
Record Attempt Requests will be confirmed + announced at the Athlete’s Banquet.
Expected Level of Behaviour in a Public Space:
All Events it will be the responsibility of the Athlete to Salt up + Strap in.
As our venue is a public space + live streamed online, there will be no swearing on the comp floor, slats or slaps in front of the public both in person or online.
If we want our sport to be taken seriously (even at a local level) our behaviour will set the standard.
We will also have many Juniors competing, they look up to you. Need we say more?
Warnings + Penalties:
Each Athlete will be responsible for adhering to all Event Rules, penalties may also apply relate to Unsportsman-like behaviour as well as Athletes who do not adhere to the Rules be in inadvertently or deliberately to gain a competitive advantage (i.e. using Grip Adhesive when the Rule clearly indicates it is not permitted).
For Event Penalties, please refer to the specific Event.
Warnings will be given to Athletes in a 3 Step process: Warning 1, Warning 2, Disqualification from Event or Competition (if deemed appropriate by the Promoters in consultation with the Referees).
Ticket purchases are final and non-refundable.
