Welcome to the True Atlantic Games 2021 hosted by True Reflection Training!

Teams of 2, mixed pairs with 5 scheduled workouts over 2 days and 1 final heat with each of our 3 divisions. Division standards are below.

Workouts will be released in the weeks leading up to the competition. Videos and workout descriptions will posted on our Facebook and Instagram story. Make sure to follow @trueatlanticgames for all the event details.

Cost is $250 per team. Should a team need a refund or substitution, please email ash@trtraining.ca. We will have a waitlist for teams that need to back out.

Divisions:

RX
Athletes in this division are expected to have performed all workouts in the 2019 Open as prescribed with no scales or modifications.

Snatch (165/115lb)
Clean & Jerk (245/145lb)
Chest to Bar Pull-Ups, Double-Unders, Ring/Bar Muscle-Ups, Toes to Bar, Handstand Walk, Strict Handstand Push-Ups, Rope Climbs, Single Leg Squats
Proficiency performing any movements with dumbbells (50/35lb)
Proficiency in a pool, able to swim 25m without touching bottom. Flotation device may be provided if needed.

SCALED
Athletes in this division may have performed workouts in the 2019 Open as prescribed, but that is not mandatory. Having performed workout(s) scaled or with modifications is acceptable and programming for this division will reflect that.

Snatch (95/65lb)
Clean & Jerk (135/95lb)
Pull-Ups, Double-Unders, Rope Climbs
Proficiency performing any movements with dumbbells (40/25lb)
Proficiency in a pool, able to swim 25m but able to touch bottom if needed. Flotation device may be provided if needed.

BEGINNER
Athletes seeking to compete in the Beginner division should have no more than a full year of CrossFit experience. As a guide, this would be your first live competition if you plan on competing in the Beginner division. Athletes in this division typically scale most if not all workouts at their affiliate, during The Open. Workouts at our event will reflect these details.

Clean & Jerk (115/85lb)
Single-Unders, Ring Rows, Hanging Knee Raises
Proficiency performing any movements with dumbbells (35/20lb)
Proficiency in a pool, able to use the provided flotation device.

MASTERS

Athletes in this division may have performed workouts in the 2019 Open as prescribed in the masters category, but that is not mandatory. Having performed workout(s) scaled or with modifications is acceptable and programming for this division will reflect that.

Workouts

1RM Power Snatch

Starting in lane 1, the team in that lane will have 20s to register a successful lift.
Both athletes will lift at the same time
As many attempts as they need in the 20s
Bar must be off the floor prior to time expiring to be successful
After 20s, the spotlight is moved to lane 2 and the second team will make their attempts
Each team will only get 3x20 second blocks to make a lift
Score is combined total weight of last successful lift

Athletes start in the pool and will swim 50m to the other side of the pool
Once both athletes touch the wall they can then begin the Pistols
Pistols:
One foot squat below parallel
Athletes may hold their foot but it cannot touch the ground
Athletes must stand all the way up before the foot can touch the ground
Athletes then swim 50m back to starting position
Once both athletes touch the wall they can then begin the Pool Muscle Ups
Pool Muscle Ups:
Starting below water, hands on the deck and arms fully extended
May use legs to help jump into supported position
Must lock out fully at the top
Athletes can split up reps but can only start their rep when their partner has re-entered the pool.
Athletes in this division cannot touch the bottom until they reach the wall
Athletes that require flotation will be provided with a kickboard and assessed a 30 second penalty.

BEGINNER: (75/45 per Hand)


Workout starts with 60 reps of Double Unders, split as desired
Both athletes will then run from Goal Line A to Goal Line B and return to Goal Line A
The female athlete will then pick up the Torpedos in each hand and walk the instruments to the 40yrd line.
Athletes will then Handstand walk 40yrds back towards the starting position or Goal Line A, split as desired. No minimum requirement, if one athlete A comes down, athlete B must take one step back and kick up based on what the judge says.
Both athletes will continue onto Round 2 with everything being the same, but now the athletes will pick up the instrument and continue to carry it downfield.
Each handstand walk will be from Instrument to the next marked line and both hands must pass by the line for the rep to count.
The female carries the load for the first 2 rounds, at half the athletes add the men’s weight and the men carry the load for the last 2 rounds.
Farmer carry is complete when both feet are passed the line
On the final round athletes will Handstand Walk the final 40yrds and the Sprint to the starting line or Goal Line A. Once both athletes have passed the line, time will stop.
Scoring if time capped:
60 Doubles
Run will be 2 reps, One for getting to Goal Line B and then 1 for getting to Goal Line A
Farmer carries are counted as 1 rep only  when finished the full length
Handstand Walks are counted as 1 rep only  when finished the full length
