Moving into competition #2 of the The GRIT Series, we are bringing back the Santa Slam!!! It is another opportunity to earn an invitation to the GRIT Championship in Summer of 2023. Last year we had 40+ teams compete at the Santa Slam, so we are going to cap this year at 60 teams.
Keeping with the structure of The GRIT Series, the Santa Slam is a two-person, same sex, team event.
The Santa Slam is open to all level of athletes over the age of 18 for our Advanced, Intermediate, and Novice Divisions.
All athletes are encouraged to familiarize themselves with different fitness domains; more specifically to have some exposure to CrossFit-style workouts and powerlifting. The Rx division could include all forms of powerlifting, bodyweight movements, and gymnastic style movements. The Scaled divisions will sometimes include lighter weight and less advanced movements than Rx. The Masters divisions will see similar or the same movements as Rx. All athletes will be required to sign a waiver.
Cost
$250 per team
EARLY BIRD - $200 (Sept 23-Oct 31 ONLY)
Fee includes – 3 to 4 competition workouts + finals for top teams – event t-shirt
Entry fee cannot be refunded, but it can be transferred to another team up to 1 week before the event.

This will be a done in a cascade fashion, where the first team to go will start at LANE 1 and complete 3 Bench Reps at designated weight per their division. The team will have 50 secs to complete all reps needed – that will include if they fail the bench and try for DEADLIFT reps to make up half the points. Athletes will wait till the judge clears them before moving to the next rep.
Rep count will be labeled per station.
Bench reps = 1pt
