About This Competition

Welcome to the very first, open to the public, Rec Gym Invitational. We are excited to invite the broader community into our gym for a day of fitness, using 4 scored events to determine who is the fittest teams on the day.

The team divisions on the day will be MMFF advanced and intermediate/scaled - catering for a broad range of abilities.

This event will take place on Saturday 13th of August which is 1 week after the CrossFit Games, we hope your motivation to perform with your team is sky high after such an epic competition.

We have some amazing sponsors on board that we will be excited to announce closer to the date.

The atmosphere at each of our previous competitions has been incredible, this one will be bigger and better than ever. On the day athletes will have access to our recovery lounge courtesy of Hyperice, with Normatec Systems and Hypervolts available to aid in your recovery between events.

CASH Prizes for the RX divison top 3 & some Epic Prize packs for those in the top 3 of the Intermediate/Scaled divison will be announced.

As it currently sits we will be allowing a maximum of 20 RX and 20 Intermediate/Scaled teams to compete on the day, so please jump onto the EARLY BIRD rate ASAP to secure your spot, this rate ends soon. (total teams may change as needed)

REFUNDS - will only be available due to a government issued lockdown. Registration can be transferred to another team if needed. Refunds cannot be given for injuries, medical issues etc but replacements can be made.

Team Total - Snatch + Clean (any variation)

With the clock working in an EMOM format females will have min 1 to register a Snatch for both athletes sharing the barbell. Can perform as many attempts as the team wishes in the minute. Male athletes will then have min 2 to register a snatch.

We follow this format for 3 cycles (6 minutes) before changing to Cleans in the 7th minute for females. Males will then use min 8 to register a clean.

Athletes may use the entire minute, as long as the barbell has left the floor before the beep that rep can count if movement standards are achieved.

IMPORTANT - Judges will signal down for each successful lift. Control must be shown at the top of your lift before dropping.

Team Total - Snatch + Clean (any variation)
