About This Competition

Sleven is proud to present a one-of-a-kind same-sex pairs weightlifting event that will hurtle you through three events in an hour on Saturday 19th October.

This is not your average weightlifting competition, each event includes twists to maximise fun and better yet, there's no gymnastics!

The Lift Off is for members, non-members, weightlifters and anyone interested in slinging some tin with us! Expect loud music, the sound of heavy barbells dropping and a special Sleven atmosphere.

THE EVENT

Part A: 

P1: 6 minutes to do a 1RM Hang Snatch
Straight into:
P2: 6 minutes to do a 1RM Snatch

- Rest 3min-

P1: 6 minutes to do a 1RM Clean + Hang Clean + Jerk 
Straight into:
P2: 6 minutes to do a 1rm Hang Clean + 2 Jerks


Part B: 

7 minutes: 

P1 goes first, 1 min to transition/change plates, then P2 goes.


AMRAP 3 Complex (individual):

3 Power Clean
3 Front Squat
3 Shoulder to Overhead


RX: 80% of bodyweight

Int: 60% of bodyweight


Part C: 

AMRAP 4 IGYG:

*Thrusters @ 
Rx: 50/35kg
Int: 40/30kg

*Every time you swap athletes - 6 burpees over the bar

 

FOUR DIVISIONS

  • Compete - Male/Female
    • Have been lifting for 2 years+, and have competed at fitness competitions or weightlifting comps, either currently or in the past.
    • As a guide, you can snatch at least 75% of your body weight.
    • You can clean & jerk at least 100% of your body weight.
    • Very comfortable with snatch, clean + jerk
    • There are no gymnastic skills at this competition.
    • Able to cycle a barbell at moderate/heavy weight.
    • Sinclair scoring based on body weight
  • Intermediate - Male/Female
    • Newer to lifting: <1 year experience
    • Knowledge of snatch, clean + jerk, able to do these lifts compentently.
      This category is suitable if you have not competed previously, or have only started competing recently, and looking to do your first competition.
      There are no gymnastic skills at this competition.
      Sinclair scoring and weights for the workout are done based on body weight


OTHER DETAILS

  • Sinclair coefficient scoring taking into account combined team bodyweight/sex.
  • Part B notes: If the percentage is in between weights, it is rounded up to the nearest 2.5kg increment based on bodyweight.
    - Can be any variation of shoulder to overhead: push press/jerk/split jerk so long as knees and hips are fully extended with barbell locked out overhead and feet in line.
    - Press outs allowed
    - Score = 3 points per complex. 1 point given for 3 reps completed. So if an athlete is mid complex but has completed 4 full complexes + 3 cleans + 2 front squats, they will get 13 points.
