British Functional Fitness 2024 online qualifier
Registration goes live at 0900hrs on 1st July 2024 (BST).
Are you ready to put the British flag behind your back as you come to fight to be one of the top athletes representing the United Kingdom at the international scene?
The British Functional Fitness Championships 2024 (BFFC 2024) online qualifier is an event for all athletes wishing to participate in the official functional fitness National Championships.
The top athletes from each group category will have a chance to qualify for the live National Trials held in Rotherham on 4th - 6th October 2024 where we will be selecting the athletes to represent our nation at the iF3 (International Functional Fitness Federation) Super Worlds held in Budapest, Hungary on 13th - 15th December 2024.
How it works
The event will run in a 1 month period from 12th July 2024 until 7th August 2024 with all athletes completing 3 tests in 1 hour timeframe.
The Medley Hour will consist of 3 tests to be performed in a specific order in a one-hour time frame. The tests will comprise of the following tests:

Endurance
All functional fitness gyms can run the test as part of their programming and introduce members to the BF3 who may not be aware of the organisation and our aims. The test is designed to be completed in 1 hour, including warm up and transition times and should be able to be fitted into the class structure of most functional fitness gyms.
The Medley Hour will be segmented as follows:

Divisions
There are 28 divisions divided by age group:

Youth*: age under 12, ages 13 - 14, 15 - 16, 17 - 18, 19 - 20

Open: Individual Female & Individual Male

Masters*: ages 30 - 34, 35 - 39, 40 - 44, 45 - 49, 50 - 54, 55 - 59, 60 - 64, 65+
*Separate for Female and Male

BFFC 2024 online qualifier is FREE of charge. We would like to encourage as many participants as possible to take part and help us achieve our goals of becoming a recognised sport in the UK. We can’t do it without our community support. Workouts
Power Hour flow:
The hour will be segmented as follows:
- 0 - 10mins Warm Up
- 10 - 16mins Strength Test (6 min window)
- 16 - 20mins Rest & set up
- 20 - 30mins Skill Workout (10 Min window)
- 30 - 40mins rest & set up
- 40 - 55mins Cardio (15 min window)
- 55 - 60mins Cool down
Workout 3: Endurance
15min AMRAP:
- 250m Row
- 10 Burpees over the rower
Scoring
- 25m is 1 rep
- 1 Burpee is 1 rep
- Full round = 20 reps
- Need to complete the 25m block for rep to count
I.e. 224m is 8 reps and if athlete has handle back in cradle at time up the rower will be allowed to tick over to stop and meters will be recorded. If handle is travelling towards athlete at time cap or any time after a 50m penalty will be incurred.
Scaling
As a scale athletes are allowed to step over the rower.

- 20 - 30mins Skill Workout (10 Min window)
- 30 - 40mins rest & set up

Time Cap: 10 Min
Scoring:
- RX: DU, Pistol and TTB: 2 pts
- Scaled: SU, Air Squat, Knee raise: 1 pt
RX:
Max score is 420 reps. The score will be total reps, then finish time. If all 420 reps are not completed, the score will be the number of reps completed at 10 min timecap.
Scaled:
If the athlete choses to scale ANY of the moments, the score will be total reps, followed by the finish time.
Note: Once the athlete chooses to scale any movement, the workout is marked as scaled and therefore will score lower than RX. Athletes can “Pick and Mix” which exercises they use and for this example the athlete may have DU and TTB but not Pistols, the workout would be scored as follows
R1 & R2: 40 points for 20 DU, 10 points for 10 AS and 10 points for 5 TTB
R3 & R4: 80 points for 40 DU, 20 points for 20 AS and 20 points for 10 TTB
