2025 Giosi Memorial WOD
About This Competition
The Giosi WOD is more than just a fitness competition; it’s a powerful tribute to the legacy of Jeff Giosi, a community wellness visionary, elite athlete, and coach whose impact continues to inspire. Since its inception in 2021, this event has grown into a global movement, bringing communities together to celebrate health, resilience, and Jeff’s enduring passion for holistic wellness..jpg)
A Local and Global Event
This unique competition combines the energy of an in-person event with the accessibility of an online national leaderboard. Last year, hundreds of athletes from around the country and a handful of international athletes participated, showcasing the remarkable reach of Jeff’s life and mission.
Support Forgiven Warrior
The Giosi WOD serves as the cornerstone fundraiser for Forgiven Warrior, a nonprofit dedicated to fostering holistic wellness in North Central West Virginia and beyond. 100% of proceeds from this year’s event will benefit our Warrior Heart program, an initiative that provides free CPR training, AEDs, and essential resources. This program is in partnership with WVU Medicine’s Center for Education and Development.
Why Warrior Heart Matters
The Warrior Heart program was created in response to Jeff’s passing from an aortic aneurysm, a tragedy that underscored the critical importance of CPR and emergency preparedness. While CPR couldn’t save Jeff due to the specific nature of his medical emergency, the heroic actions of those who stepped in serve as a testament to the difference preparedness can make.
Every year, over 475,000 Americans lose their lives to cardiac arrest, yet CPR can triple a person’s chances of survival. Your participation and support directly help us equip more individuals with these life-saving skills, ensuring our community is ready to respond in moments of crisis.
