About This Competition

Battleground 2022 was a huge hit! We are bringing functional fitness back to SoCal again April 2023. 

We have once again partnered with LA County Sheriff's Department and will be holding Battleground SoCal 2022 at S.T.A.R.S. Center April 22, 2022.

Male & Female Rx, Int, Beg, Masters 40-49, Masters 50+, *Law Enforcement / 1st Responder

*Law Enforcement / 1st Responder is equivalent to Rx for programming and movements

Team Divisions:

3-Person Same Sex

Male & Female Rx, Int, Beg, *Masters, *Law Enforcement / 1st Responders

*All 3 team members minimum age 35 and total combined age 116.

AT THE COUNT OF 3,2,1 GO TEAMS WILL HAVE 4 MINUTES TO FIND 1RM FOR THE ABOVE COMPLEX. TEAMS MAY ATTEMPT AS MANY LIFTS AS POSSIBLE WITHIN THE 4 MIN PERIOD HOWEVER THEIR SCORE WILL BE THEIR TOP 2 HEAVIEST LIFTS. TEAMS WILL HAVE A 60 SECOND REST PERIOD WHERE THEY WILL LOAD THEIR FIRST COUPLET WEIGHT. WHEN THE 60 SEC REST IS OVER. TEAMS WILL BEGIN THE 1ST OF 3 COUPLETS, *TEAMS WILL ALSO BEGIN ON THE BIKE ERG. TEAMS WILL HAVE AN ATHLETE ACCUMULATING CALS ON THE BIKE ERG FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WORKOUT INCLUDING REST PERIODS.

Teams will receive 3 separate scores for this workout. Score 1 will be the sum total of their heaviest complexes. Score 2 will be total reps for all 3 couplets. Score 3 will be total calls on the bike erg. Teams may switch in and out from the bike erg to the couplet movements however they like.
